All "my" tasks are done...now it is up to the doctors office

So, Dr. Pirrello's staff uses this cool online tracker so you can see what all your tasks are leading up to the surgery.  Several of those items on the list were bloodwork and tests that I had to have done.  As Dr. P got the results of the tests and reviewed them those tasks would be checked off his website.  (I don't know if all doctors use this system or not).

Anyway, "my" last task was the psych eval, which was sent to his office Aug 18 and they said they never got it.  And so I had it sent again a week and a half ago.  They got it that time.  I check the site everyday to see if that last task has been checked off, and finally today it was checked off! 

I have BCBSNC and I think my next step is for them to send my package off for approval from the insurance company.

I am so excited!  I hope it doesn't take a long time.  Thanks for listening!

CONGRATULATIONS........... BCBS usually gets back to them within days because they are a center of excellence.

We have Duke, and unfortunately they don't have a system like. I know that many of their patients wish that they did.

I'm so glad to hear that you are moving well through the system and that you are getting ready for submission to the insurance. It varies, but many with bcbsnc have said that they have a pretty quick turnaround. Good luck.

So today I find out they have submitted the information to the insurance for approval yesterday.  So I am extra excited.

How do you find out if you are approved?  I guess through the mail I will get something from BCBS?  And I suppose my tracker will be updated on line when Dr. Pirrello's office gets notice.
