Well... Im about... 7 weeks post-op. I've been looking at my weight loss, im down 35-40lbs since surgery/liquid diet and it seems like I've lost only 10lbs in the last month according to my tracker. 'Only ten' yeah i know that sounds silly but I feel or thought I should be doing better than I am. Im not taking all my vitamins and im slacking off on the protein. Tomorrow Im starting exercising finally, cant wait! But otherwise... just GRRRR im just in a rut, I thought I'd be doing a little better than I am... helllllpppp  :)

Unfortunately, I had to delete this message due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

Hi:

Well,You are doing great. Don't stress about the numbers and also don't compare. I went to your page and see that you are a lightweight and that means you will not lose as fast as others that have lots more to lose. I averaged 10 pounds a month and there were a few months that I only lost 5 pounds but the average came out to 10 a month. When I look at the overall pic, that isn't a bad thing. I made my goal in a little over a years time. But, I made goal. That was the important thing. Yes, others made it earlier than me. In the grande scheme of things it doesn't matter how long it took. Relax and do what you are supposed to do and it will happen. The hard part is changing the habits and maintaining the loss anyhow. You are doing great!

Just wanted to offer you a !!!  Take a deep breath and...like I hear people say all the time on the forum here..."get back to the basics."  1.  Protein first.  2.  Supplements.  3.  Water.  4.  Don't drink *X* minutes before, during, or *X* minutes after you eat.  (My clinic says *30* minutes.)  5.  Walk, walk, walk - some type of activity.  6.  Reach out for support...which you have done!

You are doing really great.  Do you realize that -40 pounds in 7 weeks is averaging more than a 5 pound loss per week?  For 7 weeks!  I don't think my very best diet to date garnered that much success.

Keep mastering the basics and you are basically guaranteed success!

You're doing great - I understand the frustration, though.  I have averaged 12.5 pounds per month and I had stalled the last month - just now started going down again  BUT:

I am off my diabetes meds
I am off my anxiety/depression meds
I am off my blood pressure meds
I am off my breathing machine
I have so much energy
I have so much more self confidence
I am walking 1.5 to 2 miles per evening
I am playing tennis with my husband
I am decluttering my house to now match my decluttered life
I have given away over 120 pieces of clothing, shoes and purses
I feel like going out and doing things (shopping, church events, volunteering)
I am going to functions with my husband that I never would have gone to before
I have gone from a snug 22 pants to a snug 14P
I have gone from a 22-24 top to a Large
I have gone from a 44D bra to a 38 C (even thought I have to roll the girls up and stuff them!)
I actually have a STRUT in my walk now
I am leaning how to take compliments in stride
I no longer walk into a room and look around to see if I am the largest person there - I don't see anyone else's size now since mine has changed!

So, don't just look at this from a weight loss standoint - look at the weight as one part of the whole new you!!

Yes, I still want to lose 40-50 more pounds, but I am so happy with all the non weight loss achievements as well as the weight loss - I really am a new person!!!!
