I can't believe the day finally came.  Today I got my referral to the bariatric center at Womack hospital and I set up my appt. for my first informational class and found out that tomorrow I can go to my first educational seminar.  I am just shocked that I am finally seeing a chance to do this!

Congratulations!!!  I set up my info class appointment mid-July and just attended last week.  I was soooo happy to be there finally!  Good luck to you with the journey you are about to take.  I hope it goes speedily for you!
Band to DS

Unfortunately, I had to delete this message due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

This is great news.
My advice is learn as much as you can and always ask questions.
Welcome to the NC boards glad you found us.

Congratulations on taking just a huge first step. You'll be overwhelmed by the amount of information you take in tomorrow. Please post any questions that you have. We've got some really helpful folks on here in every step of the process.

Thanks everyone.  I am excited about things beginning finally.  I am guessing I should take a notebook with me tomorrow night and to the 3 hour class at the end of the month, but should I also take one to the support group meetings?

I always take a notebook with me, just in case.    The one I bought is small, but not small enough to fit in my purse.  Think I'm going to grab one that will fit in my purse sometime soon because that will be ideal.  Enjoy!!!

Congratulations!  It seems like this journey is such a slow one, but once things start moving it will be here before you know it.
And welcome to the NC boards.  As everyone before me has said there is a lot of support and information here.  A great bunch of people.
