Some thoughts

Yesterday on my way home from CH I drove by a Burger King.
While driving I heard this commercial for Jumbo Chili Hot Dogs at Hardees.
So I had this thought and the thought was yeah maybe I could have a bite or two of a Whooper or a Jumbo Hot Dog but that will be that.
I dont foresee ever being able to eat that stuff again like I used too those days are over for me.
I feel so good at this point in my life I can accept this.
In fact the other night we had beef stew which I used cubed steak in thinking the meat is semi chopped and I should be able to handle it WRONG it got stuck.
I froze the leftovers and will try it again in a few weeks.

Celebrate!  Yes, those days are over!  It's a whole new world and a whole new you, Annie.  One that will see you living healthily and happily to a ripe ol' age.

Hubby and I always analyze all the latest greatest concoctions that restaraunts come out with, especially Hardee's.  We exclaim "No wonder _____ ..."  (fill in the blank with any weight/health related problem you can come up with!)  I know we aren't the only ones doing this.

Lately it's been funny to analyze what's on my plate, or what I'm ordering from a restaurant, and imagine just how that will change post-op!

My mom used to make the best oven stew ever.  I remember it had V8 juice and tapioca in it.  Hopefully you'll have better success with yours in a few weeks.  If not, just eat everything but the actual bits of meat and I'll bet it will still be delicious!  I have the makings for a mmm mmm good crockpot veggie soup for some time this week.

Have you heard anymore about your PS and the radio show?

Hi Shauna,
I just got off the phone with my surgeons nurse talking about the PS.
She said I really need to go to my PCP and get documentaion about rashes caused from the hanging skin.
As for the radio show I will be contacted by Richards producers on the 18th with the site to go too ect..

I had my first stuck food this weekend. I think I'm going to stay away from meat - period. That was on Sunday and I noticed that things were still a little delicate yesterday. I think I was eating to fast. I'm pretty aware of the size bites I take but sometimes old habits die hard.

I've got some cube steaks in the freezer so I guess I'm going to learn my lesson from you and stay away from it. I've got teenagers that will eat it no problems.

How's Mom?

How is Mom?
Well lets see where do I start.
The lift is working out great!!
Mother is going to have a van brought to her house tomorrow to look at to maybe buy so she can go places in her wheelchair.
She is not drinking which is helping everyone involved in her care.
Never a dull moment here fortunatly I have my stress relief here.
I just did 30 minutes with an incline of 20% and then did another 30 minutes on the treadmill I wasent sure if I could do it but I did.

yeap that meat will get you sometimes I can do ground beef no problem and then there are times it wont work.
What is so strange is I love beef jerky nuggets and have not a bit of problem.
Keep in mind I did not do jerky till I was 6 months out.

I knew you guys would figure something out. I am glad the lift is helping and especially glad to hear the drinking is stoped at least for now. Maybe your Mom will take more responsibility with her head clear.

Funny thing here.
Beef is one of the things I was MOST afraid of but one of the things Dory loves the most...adequately chewed, of course.
Who knew?
Thanks Suzanne!  ;O)
