Good to be home...
It is so good to be home!!!!!! I slept 12 hours in my own bed. My friend, Hope, who is staying with me was getting nervous because I slept so long. But boy did it do me good.
Thank goodness for the loritab because I have been hurting at that upper left incision. Also still having the drain in is a pain in the butt. I think Melissa (my angel) reported about the scar tissue from my c-section 29 years ago. He said it took them an extra hour to remove that tissue from my intestine. He also said that I have a hernia there too. During surgery he found that I have Atrial Fibrillation. Dr. Carlson has me on medicine now to regulate my heart rate and to lower my blood pressure. During surgery my heart rate went up to 150. I've had palpatations for several years but my dr. had not been able to find anything. I got a blood pressure monitor and pulse monitor in one so I'll know when to take my med. I don't take it if my pulse is below 60. I can't help but think about how long this would have gone undiagnosed had I not had my wls. I've already begun reaping the rewards of wls.
I have not had any problems with my protein drinks so far and love the unjury chicken soup. I mixed some unflavored unjury in with regular chicken broth....ummmmm good stuff! lol I've been drinking the vanilla Isopure and have done well with that also. I'm sipping and walking, sip sip walk walk...
I had a bad time Friday night and had my 'crying spell'. What have I done to myself...I hurt, I don't feel good....My back was hurting and I just wanted to be home. After getting some rest and getting home though all of that passed and I'm starting to feel more like me again.
Thanks again to everyone for your support. It has been so comforting to know that you have been thinging about me and sending up prayers.

Donna:
So glad you are home and beginning to feel more normal. Each day will get better and remember that time will pass by rather quickly in the scheme of things and one day this will all be old hat and you will feel like you've always been wired this way. I still evey now and then have a fleeting moment of remembering the old days but they are few and far between.
Take care and hope it is easy for you from here on out.

Sounds like you are doing pretty darn good! My doc had me to shopping from the day i got home from surgery as it was winter and he wanted me to walk. I'd be out about an hour and would start to get a cold sweat and knew it was time to head home and relax. I think the more you are up and about the better you will feel....especially if you get plenty of sleep at night.
Take care, Pam
Sounds like you are doing good. I know what you mean about being able to get back in your own bed. There is honestly nothing like being home.
Good Luck and let us know if you need anything.

I'm glad you got to sleep in your own bed and you slept well! I'm also glad they were able to find the other issues while they were doing your WLS, that's wonderful! Keep sip sip sipping and walk walk walking!!!

Welcome home Donna,
I think we all experience a day or two of the "what have I done to myself." But it sounds like you're healing well now. It does help a lot to be at home, doesn't it. It's great that you've found a few protein options that work for you this early out. Keep up the good work, we'll be hearing about the pounds falling off in no-time! :)
