I'm switching practices to his and have my consult this Tuesday with him and I'm very excited.

Can anyone here that is a patient of his give me any input of how his practice is run, fill protocols, support groups, etc.  I've gotten a general overview and feel comfortable with switching but just wondering if anyone had any further indepth info/advice they could offer.

Thanks in advance!

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

Thanks for the information!  We may cross paths Tuesday as my appointment is in the afternoon also.

Good luck with your fill - hopefully they can schedule me for a fill not too long after my first consultation with them.

Take care and thanks again!

Dr. Enochs did my RNY bypass and he is a great doctor.  I can't help with lapband questions but Shelli is correct about the support group meetings - I have only been to 2 so far.

I go on the 18th for my 6 month check and I am excited to get my lab results.

Good luck and maybe I will see you at support group.

Do you know what he requires to have the surgery (information session etc.) and how long the wait was to get in?  I am getting frustrated waiting for Duke.

You need to go to one of Dr. Enoch's free information sessions, I believe he has them every week.  They will answer questions after the session  and give you a info packet that will let you know what needs to be done and you can specifically ask him or Lisa then.  A friend of mine had lapband with him and it only took 2 1/2 months from the info session until having surgery.  On this website, click on find a bariatric surgeon, go to NC and then click in Dr. Enoch's section.  There is a tab for support groups, click on it .  It shows the dates that he has or you can just call his office and they will be able to tell you when and where they are.  Good luck!
