The answer is blowing in the wind

I think I have worn myself out worrying about these storms.
The wind is blowing and it is raining this morning.
My boys have been out with me holding an umbella for them but my girls dont like to get thier feet wet.
Lee finally has a day off which is today.
I am going to take it easy today which will mean two days of no exercise OMG I hope I can handle it.
Yesterday I did all the laundry made stew and did what I felt I needed to do for my little family.
I think after Fran I have  developed PTSD so when I here the wind blow it takes me back to the time of Fran.
I have to remind myself I am in a different place now.
BTW I had a hard time eatting yesterday I knew I needed too but I was so focased on the weather.
Going back to bed with Lee and my babies.
Even Zenny Bird is not up singing yet so at the Adams Family we are sleeping in today.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

Hope you survived, Annie.  The worst of everything seems to be over here in Jacksonville.  I was up with my DH at 3 AM, put his compression hose on him and checked Hanna's progress before going back to bed til 6, when we had a small power blip.  We have quite a few small branches in the back yard, but everything else is fine.  I hope everyone else fared as well.

I'm glad ya'll did good last night Annie...  Things are fine here in Beulaville, a few limbs down, not much rain and we still have power.  My cats are still a little scared, being very clingy and lovey, the ****ateils aren't singing yet either and usually this is their most vocal time of the day.  The ducks and chicks are acting like nothing is out of the ordinary...  all in all w're doing well here.  My folks live about 2 miles from me and they lost power around 5am and it's still out.  My Brother and Sister faired about as well as I did, just a few branches and limbs down.  Oh, I just looked out back and what I thought was a larger branch is actually a small tree ...  So I know what I'll be doin before I go to work tonight.  But it seems this storm was just another summer storm with a bit more wind for us.

Have a great day!

Yes things were pretty uneventful here in Currie, about 20 miles inland... lots of wind continues.  We did get plenty of rain and the power was out overnight.  When I called the electric company for a progress report, no sooner did I connect than the lights came on!  All is well here and I hope everyone else fared at least as well.

Yep Jacksonville/Richlands caught the worst side of the storm. Im fine, had power go out real quick at around 2 am because I heard the printers and scanners in our office reset themselves and I thought someone was breaking into the house, then I realized if someone did break in the alarm would of gone off LOL fur babies are fine. I have a HUGE oak tree in my front yard and have some small branches down and lots and lots of leaves, a few of my rose bushes have some canes busted but other then that my fence is still up, storage shed still up and house is still up!!! its very windy and rainy today but the best part is I have power!!! hope everyone else is ok!!

Good morning Annie!!

I'm so glad to see that you and your babies have weathered Miss Hanna with no problems.  I know what you mean about wearing yourself out with worry.  My human baby, Emily, is at school at NC State in Raleigh, and I could not sleep last night for worrying about her.  I just saw that the center of circulation is heading for Goldsboro, which is my hometown, so now I'm worrying about my extended family down there.  I think I'm scared about the possibility of the accompanying tornados as much as anything.  You know, I miss a lot of things about the eastern part of the state, but living with these storms is NOT one of them.  I'll just stay tucked up here in Rockingham County and do my worrying long-distance, thank you very much, LOL!!

Take care,
Cathy

I am with you Annie - Fran scared me to death, too.  Looks like Ike will not be as big a threat to us as was first feared - I was much more concerned with Ike - after all this rain it would have been BAD for Ike to come through with high winds.  If Ike hits Cuba first it will also help to decrease the winds some.

My little corner of the world made out good too. Windy - Windy - Windy I've got lots of pears on the ground and the apples have almost completely dropped off the trees. The sun's trying to peep out right now - I doubt it will have much luck but all in all we made out fantastic.

The dogs and I are going back to bed and watch movies all day. I haven't done that in forever.

Hope everyone is safe.

Not much to report here. My DD had to go pick her cat up from the vet earlier and she said a gust of wind knocked her car around a little but it wasn't too bad. I am sure my other DD who was on duty last night will have something to say when she gets up about her shift. She's been on the force only a few weeks and she has already had a few tales to tale as her shift (swing shift) is the busiest shift and she gets to do and see more things right off the bat. DH worked last night and he didn't have any instances to tell about either.
I think the worst is over Annie. Maybe this storm will help you be more desensitized to them some. You are in a better place now. You can handle anything!

I myself didn't get much sleep last night.  I am where the storm came on.  We did good we only lost our mail box.  I just hope my mailbox didn't damage anyones house.  I can't find it anywhere.  Normally I sleep well with a storm but my dh had to go with the national guard for the storm so I was home alone with the kids.  I wanted to make sure I was aware of what was going on and my too puppies didn't like the wind.  I hope to get a nap in sometime today.  I hope everyone faired well.
