BACK FROM G'VEGAS UPDATE ON AMANDA, DONNA AND DEMIKA

I drove up to G'Vegas and went up and saw Donna... she is a HOOT and so fun to talk too! we talked about our surgeon Dr. Mann and talked about anything under the sun shes very sweet and is doing fantastic. I dropped her off a little present and headed back down to PACU as Amanda and Demika were still awaiting room assignments. I had to run out to the truck and grab their presents then run back in. It sure is easy to run and walk fast when you lose weight LOL for those of you who have been to Pitt you know how HUGE It is!! Just as I went to see Amanda they told me to go upstairs she had finally got a room. The nurse said I could say hi to Demika real quick but then I would have to leave.... the were not going to allow me to say hi to both of them even though I promised it would be just a quick hello. Demika was sound asleep and I didnt dare wake her up. I wanted to leave her present with her but was told no I would have to leave it at ASU desk. I hope she gets it.

I went upstairs to see Amanda and saw my nurse who pulled my tubes out LOL he didnt recognize me AND I also saw Dr. Mann my own surgeon and HE didnt know who I was LOL I have not seen him in six months and I do my one year visit in two weeks with him. Amanda was a bit nauseated from that morphine and was telling me it was not doing anything for the pain (sounded VERY familiar) her back was sore from laying in that bed all day. I got her a sheet to put on since she was so hot and turned down the air in her room. Im sure she will be more comfy once she can get the leg squeezers off for a bit and the slippers off her feet so she can cool down. I was so happy I got to see all three ladies today eve though Demika was asleep anyways thats the latest from The Pitt Palace... we have three new losers!!!!

They just have to remember the first few weeks are the toughest and each day it gets a little better!! Thanks so much for the update!! Sounds like you had your hands full

Thanks for the report Darcie!  I agree, Donna is a hoot!  Sorry I didn't get to see Amanda or Demika but I'm sure they were glad their Angel came by!

Thanks, Darcie! Oh how we know those days all too well. I'm definitely glad it's over, but it was SO WORTH it in the long run!

You are right about the hallways though-- going up and down them for James's surgery and time in the hospital was SO MUCH easier after losing weight...
