Help Please
CityGal,
I had to post just to let you know that I am sorry for the runaround you are getting. I do not know what to advise you as I did not go to Duke for my surgery. The only thing that I can say is to keep pushing until you get some answers. If you live close go over there and push in person that always seems to work best for me.
Good Luck,

Good Luck,
I am going thru duke. I know there's a lot of new people there now, so it's a little harder to get info. After they get all your paperwork in, the next step is for them to send it to the surgeon's review board. They decide if you fit the surgery criteria and whether or not your information is ready for the insurance company.
I would call and ask if your paperwork has been sent to the surgeon's review board yet, and if not, what do they need from you in order to do that. Maybe a more specific question like that will help.
When I called, they had all the info they needed from me but I think they hadn't sent it up yet just because they were behind. Someone reviewed my file while on the phone and saw it was complete and then sent it up to the board. Once it was sent to them, the process went really quickly and the next thing I knew my insurance company was calling me with questions. I am on a 2 month diet (or supposed to be :) and then hopefully I'll be approved.
Good luck Citygal! Let us know what happens the next time you call.
