I was told it was time for a new avatar
When I met Terri R this past weekend, she told me that I really needed to update my avatar. I guess I still see/saw myself looking very much like I did then, but as I looked at it, I realized that the photo was taken almost 30 lbs. ago. The new one doesn't morph or rotate and I hope to have a better photo soon, but here is a recent representation of what I look like...
When this was taken, I was playing dressup at the bridal store looking at mother of the groom dresses ... Now I know what it should have felt like when I was searching for my own wedding gown so many years ago ... To find that dress that makes you feel magnificently beautiful ... not just something that 'will do.' I can't get that dress this time, but maybe when one of my other kids gets married I will get the one that makes me feel magnificently beautiful. Shopping is now a whole new world.

I love the new avatar! I think you look great! You do look different even since I saw you last! By the way, after Ben has his surgery and gets where he wants, then I believe you should have a renewal of vows and get the dress you want then! Wouldn't that neat!
Try and enjoy the wedding through all the hustle and bustle. Take care and talk to you soon.
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
Thanks for the lovely compliments and the support. Ben and I had talked about renewing our vows at 25 and then again at 30 ... I was in a serious car accident a bit before our 25th and just wasn't up to it. Then, I had just had RNY before our 30th and didn't feel like doing it then either. Your idea of doing it after Ben undergoes his own metamorphosis is a good one and one we'll consider doing. I doubt that I'd get that wedding gown of my dreams, but I'm sure I could find something that would make my heart sing.
Today is the day that it all starts to get going at a fever pitch. The flowers are supposed to be coming in from Columbia today via FedEx and it's just hot as heck :-( ... Ben's flying in later this morning and I'll be picking him up. It will be great to see him. Then this evening, as I try to hydrate and condition about 1000 roses, we are having all of my husband's family and the kids and their significant others over for a dinner. OMG!!!! Can we say pandemonium?!
I'd better run.
Hugs,
Barb

For some reason the new avatar came out like a thumbprint or thuimbnail whatever the heck you call it. It was oober small for some reason when I tried to uplaod it so I will fiddle around tonight and see if I can do it. Thanks. Yes, I probably am due for one as well. Did you lose another pound?
Lisa
Yep! :-(
I'm not overly skinny, but like you I'm definitely at a point where I don't 'need' to be losing anymore and I don't want to either. I'm really frustrated with this and I'm not sure what to do.
The last time I posted about continuing to lose, I got some not so nice comments so I haven't been posting about this frustration, but It's as bothersome to me as stalls were before.

Hi Alice,
You are so sweet. Thank you for your lovely comments.
No, I didn't buy another dress. The ones that I have are 'nice', but not magnificent. I might have bought one that I felt magnificent in if I could have afforded it, but it's not in the cards right now, so I'm wearing the ones that you have seen ...Unless my son prefers yet a 3rd I already own that you haven't seen yet. ;-) Can you tell I'm a clothes horse?!
It's going to be incredibly hot (triple digits) and it's a garden wedding at 4pm, so I hope that the gramma's and flowers all hold up. Other than that, it's sure to be a lovely event as I'm getting a new daughter who is lovely in person and deed, while my son is marrying the girl of his dreams. What could be better?!
