Hello friends! My update...

The past week has been a whirlwind.  I've tried to keep up with reading the forum, but it's been difficult to find the time to take part in all the discussions I've wanted to and I apologize if I've gotten behind on replying to emails/messages.  You've all been in my thoughts, that's for sure! 

I did attend the orientation session today at Hickory Surgical and I am ever convinced that I am in the right place at the right time in my life.  I could not have found a better fit...the surgical clinic, the surgical group, the type of surgery I am pursuing.  It all seems so perfect for ME and for that, I am so grateful! 

I've not been having much success on the psych consult front but I got a really good referral today and will be having that done on the 18th of this month.  I was hoping to have had it over with by now, but like most of you know, not everthing goes as planned!  I still have several records to track down tomorrow and then, after the clinic receives the psych consult, I will be scheduled to see the surgeon.  I am ready!

Thank you, Shelli, for helping convince me to put my avatar back to my photo.  When I walked in to today's orientation, and someone recognized me warmly from my OH photo, I knew, especially after reading your comment, that I had to put it back! 

Nancy,  it was so good to see you today at the orientation.  Hope you had a safe trip home and are feeling confident about your pursuit of WLS.  Keep remembering what I said.  I am confident in you!

Shauna, it sounds like you've been busy, which is good! It never goes as fast as we want it to, but I promise you, your day will be here before you know it!

Hanging and jumping...that's what I do best these days!    Keeping busy helps things go faster.  I'm thankful to have you tell me from experience that it WILL be worth it!

I think I've said before that I think the time we have to wait is actually a blessing.  It does give us the proper time to gain our perspective.  Thanks for the well wishes!  I'm wishing the same for Ben!

Hey Shauna, I'm so glad you aremaking progress in this journey.  I know it seems like it is taking so long to jump through all the ropes; you're about where I was last year this time and now, just a mere 10 months post-op, it seems like the year has flown by.  This time next year, you'll feel like a NEW WOMAN!  Keep up the great work!  Alice

Isn't it wild to look back on someone walking the same walk you did at about the same time?!  I'll have you know, I am proud to follow in your footsteps on about the same timeline.  I can only hope to have similar success!  I am ready to feel like a new woman...bring it on!

Glad things went well yesterday - I knew you had a full day and would be tired...  PM me and let me know what happened with the psych eval - because I thought Suzanne was really good and would recommend her to anyone in the area.

I must've missed when you took your picture off - but I, like Shelli, like to see your smiling face.  And you are just as beautiful in person as the pic...
