Federal BCBS Questions

Does Federal BCBS require 5 years of weight history and/or a 6 months Dr. supervised diet and exercise program?  I am currently over 40 BMI but have no other problems.   I plan to use Duke Weight Loss Surgury Center for my surgury.

I have BCBS FED and I had to have a 5 year weight history but it did not have to be Dr. supervised. My weight record did come from previous Dr. visits though. I have heard you can use weight records from wieght loss clinic like weigh****chers but I don't know if it is true for BSBC fed.

I have Federal BCBS and didn't have to provide 5 years of weight history or 6 months of a supervised diet and exercise program.  I went through Duke as well and if they provided my weight history to BCBS they must have used the weight data I provided on my application.  I hope that helps.

I am a newbie to this site.   I hope you can help some with my issue.    I am also going to  Duke WLS Center, however I find that noone will return my calls and noone knows the status of my records.   I first saw the NP, nut, and psych July 9 and on August 5 sent in all the test results that were required by the NP.   I called my insurance and they have not received any paperwork.   I've called six different times and always get the runaround.    This is so frustrating.    Did you have any of these problems with Duke?
