OT: Calm before the storm
UPDATE...I have another day or two of relative calm before the storm as we prepare for the wedding. I've done all of the wedding programs and table numbers for the reception. I prepared the menu and Christine will be printing them. I've also been working on a DVD slideshow to be run at the wedding reception.
I will being doing all of the flowers for the wedding and reception ... I used to do weddings several times a year. Christine's middle name is Rose and it suits her as she absolutely loves roses, so with that in mind I'll be receiving 1000 roses from Columbia Thursday and then the Run the Finish Line will start as I condition all of the flowers and start all of the arrangements that will be roses, roses, roses. It's a pretty good sized event w/5 attendants, 15 reception table arrangements, about 20 bouts and 10 corsages. It's warm/hot here (in the mid-90's) and it looks like it will continue to be so through the wedding UGH... Not so good for 1000 roses that you need to keep cool when AC is not the norm here.
Ben flies in Thursday ... He gets here around noon since he leaves RDU at the crack of dawn ... literally. It will be great to see him again and I know that the boys and his folks are really looking forward to seeing him. This has really been a 'working' trip, but seeing family and a few friends has really been wonderful.
We have the Rehearsal Dinner Friday night and the wedding is Sunday evening. Hopefully, I'll have some photos to post soon.

Annie,
Thanks for your words of support and encouragement. I know that it will look beautiful, no matter what the flowers look like, because even though I'm prejudiced ... my kids are BEAUTIFUL!!! That includes my new DIL.
I won't be at the September get together because I'll be in NYC with Sarah on another follow up appointment, but I'll be at the October meeting.
Hugs,
Barb

Hi Pam,
Thanks for asking after Sarah. She's been having a nice time going white water rafting, to local arts festivals, and hanging out with friends and family. I think that she, like me will be sad to leave and head home, but she'll be glad to start HS when she gets back from NYC ... We turn around and head to NYC right after we get back so that her surgeon can check on her.
I'll be working my tail off, but I also plan to dance the night fantastic the night of the wedding.
Thanks again for the well wishes,
Barb

Hi Deb,
It's busy, but I'm delighted to be able to be 'included and involved' in preparing for the festivities. I couldn't be more delighted with the young woman who will be officially joining or family this week. I truly believe that this lifematch for both and feel absolutely blessed.
I look forward to showing pictures of my family ... Stay tuned.
Love,
barb
