Centers of Excellence for BCBSNC

I am scheduled for PCMH on 9/8. Any tips on what I should bring to the hospital?

I thought I was so prepared for surgery - boy was I wrong!! I wen to PCMH with everything everyone had told me to carry, lip balm, ipod, books, wipes, my own gown, etc.  Oh well, there wasn't any rooms avalible, so I was in recovery and pre-op until I was released.  I stayed in the bed until about 2 hours before I was released.  I am not whining, but that was the only bad part of of  time at the hospital.  Everyone was great, but not having a room to my self, no tv, no privacy, limited visitors, was a drag. 

Wow, I hadn't even thought about that happening. Hard to believe that in such a large hospital there aren't rooms. Hope you are doing well. Were you able to get up and walking from the pre-up/recovery area??? I am hoping to hop out of bed and get moving ASAP.

I had surgery on Thursday lunch time, I got off that bed late in afternoon and got on real bed.  Then on Friday I got up long enough for the swallow test, back in the bed.   I did not get up until Sat am 1 hour before I left and that was to take a bath!!
