2 NSVs in 1 day

Now this may sound silly to you, but I guess back around the end of May - I was so miserable and found it near impossible to put on my socks.  I just gave up on wearing socks at all...  Well, this morning before going to work, I put on my socks and had no trouble !  I am not sure why I decided to even try, but I did and I was not short of breath from trying.

Secondly, I have to walk from the parking lot to the time clock and then to my department at the hospital.  It had gotten so hard for me and I was short of breath, that I would stop for a minute and *rest*.  This morning, I walked the whole distance without stopping  and no shortness of breath...

I felt so good about both things that I found my step lighter and I realized that I was moving around more than usual.  I offered to take patients to x ray - takes lab specimens to the lab...

All in all - just a good NSV - and I wanted to share...

Shelia,
This does not sound silly at ALL.  This sounds fantastic!  I can fully understand the sock issue AND the walking from the parking lot issue.  Your excitment is contagious.  Now I can't wait to easily put my socks on and to walk without shortness of breath.

And while you were doing those things I just bet there was a big smile on your face.
Hugs! Donna L (finding_me) - I just know I'm here somewhere...

I'm not sure what an NSV is, but I'd say both of these definitely qualify as Wow Moments!    It is so awesome to hear, Shelia...I'm super happy for ya!

Shelia,

These aren't silly, these are the layers of ****oon we have been shrouded in being lift from you with every .1 of a pound that slides off of your body. While the smaller clothes are the outward manifestation of the metamorphosis that we undergo and the test results and vital signs provide us a 'medical' measure, it's the quality of life changes that are some of the most palpable changes that we experience. I don't honestly think that someone who has not been obese AND lost the weight would truly understand the impact of the 'little' changes you mentioned. As you know, they may 'seem' like 'little' things, but we both know better. They are the reflection of the bigger changes that we are experiencing and the newfound freedom and strength we are developing as we make this incredible journey.

Congratulations.

Barb

Congratulations!  And I don't think it's silly at all -- in fact, I blogged about tying my shoes a couple of months back.  I'm learning every day that it is the "simple thing" that fills my heart with joy and gratitude.

Keep up the GREAT work :)  Laura

Thank you Laura - someday I will talk about tying my shoes!  Each little thing is an accomplishment to me.
