Were you overweight your whole life?
How many people fought obesity their whole lives before they had WLS, specifically RNY?
How far out are you? Are you fighting regaining?
Thank you for your patience with me, and your support. It's so hard to believe I can lose this weight and keep it off. It would be something I've never, ever done before.

When I was little my parents took me to pediatric specialists to see whey I would not gain weight, and in college (at graduation in 1980) I weighed in at the mere 90 pounds - but I am really comfortable at 115-120 and that's where I am aiming. My highest weight was 250 and this morning I was at 175, down from 241 5 months ago on surgery morning.
I am so please and excited about this surgery and the results so far

Hi Nancy,
Go read my profile ... you sound just like me! ;-) Like you, I started gaining weight when I was about 8 yrs old and for a few months when I was a teen I slimmed down .... but, of course, it didn't last. I was somewhere between chunky and overweight all through school. The six months before I got married were really stressful and I ate everything that wasn't nailed down and I went from wearing a siz 14/16 to a size 22. My wedding dress was a 22 ... I was devasted. I went up and down all of my adult life, but never really held a weight below 200 for more than a few months. Most of the time I was somewhere in the 220's to 240's reaching as high as the mid 260s at one point. Like you, I also wasn't too sure that #1 I could get it all off and #2 that I'd be able to keep it off. As you know I've gotten all of the excess weight off and I'm about 17 months post op and I'm not having any trouble maintaining the loss ... as a matter of a fact, I'm having to work at keeping weight from dropping. I never, in a million years, would have thought that I'd be in this position.
I wish this and more for you.

I am a year and a half out and am not fighting regain, just trying to get 10-15 more pounds off prior to plastics. This does work and it will work for you, if you follow your surgeon's guidelines.
Take care.

going from size 32-34 to 18-20's aint half bad. I am sure I will loose more I just don't know how far down I can get...150lbs would be great. Sorry about the long post. Guess I'm a little wordy tonight.
