My First Wow Moment

And I haven't even had surgery yet!!!!!! 

I had an appointment this morning with my PCP, who I love, btw.  She is just so compassionate and supportive!  When I filled her in about where I'm at with the WLS, she gave me a big smile and said that she just really feels like I am the perfect person to be having this done!    Then, here was my first wow moment!...  She also said that as all the weight comes off, I'm going to be beautiful...AND...she really doesn't think I'll even have that much excess skin to deal with!    Now, I beg to differ with her (LOL!), but still...WOW!!!  That did a Shauna good, let me tell you! 

So I had my blood drawn to recheck my thyroid level and should know something in about a week.  The thyroid med has definitely made a difference!  It's like a fog has lifted and the weight finally began budging for me.  Phew!  I'm to up my calcium and vitamin D and go back to see her again in a month.  Wouldn't it be great if I have my surgery date by then?!  Fingers crossed!

You'll be there before you know it. I too love my PCP and that is truly a wow moments when you get such high praise and compliments from them.

Isn't it great to have a Dr. that is warm and supportive. I drive more than 30 minutes to see mine. Some people think I'm crazy since there are plenty of Dr's that are closer, but like you I just love mine. I'm so glad that she's so supportive, because you'll need her support not just while you prepare for surgery but when you you've had it and move forward in life.

I do think that I have a minor disagreement with her though ... you are already BEAUTIFUL, inside and out. You are going to be absolutely STUNNING when you complete your metamorphosis! I can't wait to see the results.

I know I would drive 30 minutes to see my PCP...thankfully she's less than 10...so I don't blame you one bit.  And yes, I am really looking forward to her support AFTER the surgery as well.  I know she is going to be there for me 100%.

I'm going oops thinking I gave the wrong impression about my PCP's "beautiful" comment.  lol  I'm sure she thinks I'm da bomb now...just gonna be more and more so as the weight drops.   

Ah Darcie, I hope I get my date soon too.  My highest hopes are for the first of October, lowest hopes are for the first of November.  I started mid-July and was told it's approximately a 3-month process through Hickory and I'm right on top of pushing through appointments as quickly as I can.  ~x~Fingers Crossed!~x~

That's great to have WOW moments even before surgery! Keep up the great work and I can't wait to see you on the losers bench!
