Zenny Bird and I love flax seed

I think I have found something that is working great for my constipation that has been giving me a fit since I was about 7 months out.
I am now making my own protien bars and I use oatmeal and flax seed in every batch.
Also sometimes in the morning I will have one container of SF pudding and mix a little uncooked oatmeal with it and some flax seed.
It does the trick for me.
Also Zenny is sitting beside me and eatting a little flax seed I put on my desk for him.
I have also started giving Lucky my 15 year old dog flax seed because he has constipation troubles too LOL
Flax  seed is alot cheaper than spending 400 dollars at the emergency vet.

I am totally on the flax seed band wagon. I add it to everything. I even put it in brownies and cookies when I rarely make them. I think it may be why my DH is doing so well in the blood tests department. He has awesome cholesterol numbers in spite of his heart condition.

Annie,
Try making one of my Muffins in a Minute (stolen from the Grads Group):
  1/4 cup flax meal
  1 egg
  1/2 tsp baking powder
  dash of salt
  2 packs of SPlenda
  about 1/2 tsp cinnamon

whip it up with a fork and pour into a ramekin or small bowl that you have sprayed with Pam.  Nuke for 60-90 seconds, depending on how wet your batter is.  I make lots of variations of these, and often flavor them with cocoa, add nuts, applesauce, half a banana, pumpkin, zucchini, grated carrot, sugar free torani syrups... the possibilities are endless!

High in fiber: like 8 gr per muffin
High in protein:  about 15 gr each
Low in carbs:  8 gr for the basic recipe (for ZERO net carbs) plus whatever carbs are in your additives.

They are delicious and good for you AND have the desired effect as well as give you the feeling you have just had a piece of cake without all those nasty carbs!

Hi Annie, will you post the recipe for your protein bars with oatmeal and flax seed?  That sounds like something I'd like to make.  TIA!
