On the Road in Eastern NC

Hey there! I began visiting OH at the beginning of the year, took a break, I am back and determined. I have made the decision to move forward with RNY. I am trying to get approved and have the surgery before the end of November (insurance renews). So, I've been researching, talking to friends that have had WLS, gone to an information session and I've got my new patient appointment on Tuesday. Let's just say once I decide to do something, I don't like to wait around.

I had met a few friends on this board earlier this year and hope to get to know many more as we all move forward. I would be grateful for any advice and tough love when I need it!

Hi "spark".  Your doctor is in partnership with my doctor, Dr. Chapman.  You are at going through the Brody school of med at Pitt, right?  What city are you from?  I'm pre-op too and in the pipeline.  Be patient, the process takes a while, depending on your insurance requirements.  If you're a self-payer you won't have to wait so long though.  Keep us posted!

take a look at my profile, it may offer some encouragement!! So far I feel absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I am down 112lbs. since I started this process.
It has been an amazing ride and Dr. Pender has changed my life :)

Thank you Jami and Meredith! It's so wonderful to find one person going through the process of having surgery and one who already has and both with ECU. I live in Washington and work in the big city of Greenville.

Meredith, what WLS are you going to have? Do you have a date yet? I would love to have a WLS buddy, maybe we will end up having dates close together.

Jami, OMG! You are doing fantastic and look gorgeous. I hope and pray that I have such amazing results. I look forward to getting to know you and following in you shrinking footsteps.

Welcome!!!  Dr MacDonald was my doctor with Southern Surgical and I had mine done at Pitt also...  You're with a great group of doctors for sure!  Anyway, Just wanted to drop a line and tell you welcome!  I wish you the best of luck! 


 

Hey,  This is all new to me.  I have my first meeting Sept 9.  I've heard good things about Dr. MacDonald.  I live in Rocky Mount and he practices here at Nash General.  What made you decide on Pitt?  A friend of mine lives here in Rocky Mount, but she decided to go to Pitt also.
