UGH!!!  Still no date set yet.  We're hoping July 4th, 2009...  We talked about it again on Thursday night, but until his (soon-to-be) ex signs that dang paperwork we're at a stand still.  They've been seperated 4 years now and were only married/living together for 9 months, but she still insists on 1/2 his retirement money.  I told him that if his attorney doesn't have this wrapped up by October we're going to get another attorney, this is crazy!  I'm ready to plan plan plan!!!  LOL!

Hi Sheryl,
I was in a similar situation with Lee before we got married too.
Did you know you can do your own divorce it is all legal but you have to do lots of paper work and some foot work.
I basically did Lee's divorce for him all I paid for was to have a paralegal  present it to the judge.

I would love to know how you did it.  I don't mind doing paperwork or the foot work either.  If you could help I'd love it!!!!  The only problem is that his "ex" lives in Wisconsin, does she have to be here???  I'm about ready to fire the attorney he has and hire another one but I really don't want to spend a lot more money than he already has.

Hi Sheryl,
If my memory is still in tact I went to the public library and printed off several documents also I think I purchased a do it yourself divorce kit online.
Lee's ex was in TN and no she did not have to be here.
In fact I have met his ex and we became friends and we also gave her a car mainly because I felt it was the right thing to do.
It can be done because I told Lee I would not marry him unless he was free and clear.

Thanks for the info!  I will be going online this weekend to find a DIY divorce kit.  Wish us luck!  Rex knows we can't get married until he's free & clear also...  I just hate waiting to plan everything ya know?  I've never been married before so I'm excited.

It's so true that the last little bit is the hardest, specially when that last little bit is what you re-gained... ugh!  But my tool is still working and I'm trying to use it!  I won't give up this fight!  I soooo want to wear a size 14 wedding dress!!!  Silly I know - it's all better than a size 42 any day!!!  Whoop Whoop on that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  LMAO! 

Oh, I talked with Sheila on Thursday and she was asking about you (and Nancy, Darcie, Annie, Suz, Amy and everyone) her computer is on the blink again sp she hasn't been online even to lurk for a long while.  I caught her up to date and she's thrilled with your success girl!  We all need to get together again!
