Hey Folks - I've missed yall (long update)
I had my follow up appointment with Dr. MacDonald on Tuesday and got those blasted itching staples out. He cleared me to drive and move on to pureed foods. The only thing I can't do is lift more than 10 lbs and that is an indefinite thing due to the hernia that I already have. He says we'll fix that later. Oh by his scales I've lost 20 lbs since my last pre-op appointment. Moving on to pureed is bittersweet. It's great to be able to use utensils again - but I'm struggling to get my protein in now. I had it down to a science on liquids but it's a whole new learning curve now.
I could care less if I eat or not. Getting my water in isn't a problem - I'm never more than 3 feet away from my water bottle at any given time. SF Popsicles are still the best thing that God ever let be created.
Getting my exercise in is mostly done by walking right now. I get hot so blessed easy that I've been breaking my walks up into 2 or 3 shorter walks. Every once in a while my equilibrium is sorta off so I've been staying off the treadmill until that works itself off. I think it's just a reminder / remainder of the anesthesia.
Being back home is wonderful but I sorta over did it yesterday and I'm sore all over today. I completely overhauled my pantry shelves and laundry room. Today my Mom has hovered over me like only she can do and she's rearranged my kitchen cabinets and we went thrifting to get a set of juice glasses (I sip better from the small ones and don't try and chug) and we also found a great set of salad plates and small bowls (custard cup size).
Well - I guess it's time for more protein. I hope all is wel with everyone. I'm reading back through the posts that I've missed. Everyone keep up the good work and to those of you who are struggling I'm so sorry - these things will pass but it does seem to take forever.

It is so good to hear from you! I like the idea of sipping from smaller glasses. And definitely know what you mean about the protein - I was just started on soft foods and I have no idea which way to turn first !!
I am trying to incoperate some exercise into my life and I think I am kicking and screaming for nothing. I know it is the key to weight loss, but why do I hate it so much???
You are doing great and I am glad you have had your mother to watch over you. I am thankful to have my youngest daughter living on the lower 40 to watch me...

i know im not getting my protein in. i can drink 2 oz down with ease. i see dr mac 2 wks from tomorrow i assume for a fill. only thing i can tolerate is boost . i dont have any unflavored protein so im winging it. i know its not right but i cant help it.
my mother in law is making some chicken soup today and ill eat some of the broth for dinner.
i cant wait

today has been awful for me. i woke up at 8 and laid back down at 1030 for 4 hrs !!! i havent done that all week. i have zero energy ( thanks to no protein im sure)- i am taking my vitamins.
does your tummy growl at all? omg mine is awful- sometimes painfully awful.
too bad we dont live close.we could walk together.
