YUCK

YUCK

ive never been a shake or smoothie person and im trying to get used to them
i do not like strawberry flavored anything. banana is gross
im tolerable of chocolate and ive just went back to boost. i know i have to get the protein in but i cant seem to find a way to do this.

ive never been a sweet person.. so its such a huge adjustment to drink nothing but sweet stuff all day. the broth i had is ok.
I know i have to get use to a lifestyle change. but its really hard to drink something when you dont like the taste. i know a lot of you have smoothies for bfast or snacks. i cant imagine it.

any suggestions? im going crazy

im soooo looking forward to moving in the next phase. i have my soups and pureed food list all ready .
my problem is incorporating all the protein.

dont they make protein pills? LOL thats what i need

thanks for listening to me whine

Melissa,

I hear ya - and making a whole serving of protein shake is just wasteful for us at this stage - 4 oz only.  But I was told that I could use the low carb slim fast and add things to it.  So I buy the vanilla and add some flavorings - almond or coconut - and I could add some fruit.  I freeze 1/2 a banana and mix in the blended the slim fast and the banana.  Not too sweet - not too thick.  Also I was told it was ok to use the chocolate one and add a spoonful of smooth peanut butter.

I haven't tried it yet, but egg drop soup is on my list.  I figured some chicken broth, beat an egg, maybe a dash of soy sauce.  And that would be protein.

Also I use sugar free, fat free instant pudding, skim milk, and add one of the protein packages that I have.  I bought samples on line of Unjury unflavored protein, vanilla, and chocolate.  I am not a strawberry person either!

Hope this helps you.

Unjury chicken broth is actually pretty good and can be mixed into V8 juice or to boost the chicken broth. I also don't like very many of the protein shake drinks and am trying to taste as many as I can before my surgery.

I know what you mean.  I hate my protein shakes but I also know it is necessary for my new lifestyle.  I buy the EAS ready to drink shakes from Walmart.  The only kind I can tolerate right now is the strawberry creme.  They also make a chocolate and a french vanilla.  Good Luck.

I have been using the chocolate 100% whey isolate protein from GNC mixed with unsweetened soy milk.  I shake it in a shaker with my MiraLax every morning.  It isn't very sweet at all so may be worth a shot for you.  Hang in there!  You'll be able to start eating high protein foods soon!  {{{Hugs}}}

Melissa,
After my surgery I became lactose intolerant.
The protien shakes would make me feel BAD.
I am able to do lactaid 1% with the Dessert protien powder.
Have you tried SF pudding with the protien mixed in it?
Or make the pudding with the boost and add some extra protien powder.

I make a shake with vanilla protein powder, skim mil**** and about a teaspoon of instant coffee and splenda.  Not too sweet and a nice pick-me-up.  Good Luck.

The GNC's in that I have been to let you sample one called Max Protein. I really like the  Chocolate and vanilla. The chocolate taste like a milkshake and I make frappachinos out of the vanilla. If you like frapps I will put sown my recipes that I make every morning. I hate most protein shkes but these are very good.

you can order a sample of Unjury chicken flavored and/ or the unflavored protein powder from their website. The unflavored can be mixed with anything you can eat. The chicken flavor has a recipe on it to make chicken soup.
