OT Tommorro's mouth attack
Darc,
I'm sorry you're having to go through this but if you're going to see Dr Gilbert (endodontist) in Wilmington he's a nice guy. I had to go to him for a root canal last year and they let me make payments (thank God!)... Anyway, I told Dr Gilbert that I was very afraid of shots and the dentist in general, he made me very comfortable and the root canal was very quick. I know you're having more than a root canal but I just wanted to tell you about my experience with him if you're going to him. Anyway, I will definately keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!! Try to get some sleep tonight!!

Hi Darcie,
I'm sorry you're having so much pain and that you're going to have to make that long trip by yourself. This may be a stupid suggestion but I thought I'd throw it out there for you to consider - why don't you ask the Endodontist if he can give you a fresh shot of novacaine at the end of your procedure? That might give you enough of a pain relief "boost" for you to get home before it wears off. At least novacaine won't affect your driving...as long as you don't try to drink something and dribble all over yourself, LOL!!
Good luck tomorrow, and let us know how it goes!
Best wishes,
Cathy W.

I have had to have that procedure done, the good news is, the relief is almost instantaneous. Once they reach the area that is inflamed and release the built up fluid you immediately feel better. Let them know you have to drive home and they will give you an extra shot of novacaine before you leave. The pain you are in now is far far worse than what you will feel tomorrow. Good luck.
