Salt?

I am still wanting to do the cooking I have always loved and this has really pushed me to do even more. I just got out of the kitchen trying to come up with something different as the liquids are getting much to boring for me. LOL I have never cared for sweets so it has been more challenging for me than I thought it would be to find salty things. I just hope the salty isn't dehydrating me. Does anyone know anything about that after RNY? I have been drinking tons of fluids.

I was craving Chinese so I decided to make up a Hot & Sour soup with nothing but liquids. It is actually delicious.

I put a can of chicken broth, ginger flavored soy sauce, vinegar (wished I'd had some rice wine vinegar), garlic juice and boiled on the stovetop. It was excellant and sure cut that craving out. I made tomato soup the other day and still have some that I might add to it for taste.

I am not big on cooking for one - but if you haven't looked at the site - www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com then I would suggest that you check it out.  I think that is correct.... she has all sorts of recipes and some things sound really easy to make.  I haven't gotten that far into my post-op program yet, but I suggest looking at this site.

I have done just fine with salt. Don't overdo it, but it should be fine. I also tried doing some 'creative' things with chicken and beef broths during my first few weeks.

I cook a great deal now. I've made some adjustments so that meals are generally leaner and lighter than they were before, but I am able to make most things work well.

Thank you both. Loved the website too. After having HBP I don't want to over do it. Thanks again.

I use the 'no salt' salt and cook with that... I will add normal salt at the end if necessary - you really dont notice the difference.

Great idea. I never cared for no-salt before. Maybe now I can tolerate it now though. Adding regular might just be the key afterwards.
