Finally!!!!!!

Well this has been a long time coming (and I've still got a little ways to go) but I'm closer now than ever before.  I've been approved and I have a surgery date!!!!!!!!!  October 27th!!!!!

Only took about 3 days to get the approval but b/c of my work schedule I have to wait until the end of October!  That's fine, I've waited this long and that will give me more time to get this weight ticker to go down!  I've been struggling to keep it down....down 2, up 2, down 3, up 3.....it's all good though I'm not giving up!

I visit here often but rarely post....i do read what everyone else has to say so keep talking!  I'd love to get together with any pre/post ops in the Winston Salem/Triad area and forge some lasting friendships and support circles.  If you're interested let's try to make it happen!

I hear you on the waiting game. I'm in Greensboro as well as a couple of others I have met here so far. There might be a Zoo day in the works coming up so keep tuned in!

I'll be on the lookout for the zoo.  It's almost time for you!  Whoo-Hoo!!!!

Congratulations on your surgery date!  October will come quickly, I promise.  Feel free to ask anything you want to, we've been there done that and love to share.

TJ,  Major congratulations!!!  October will be here before you know it.    I've been keeping my fingers crossed that I get a surgery date around that same time, but I have NO clue if it will work out that way.  Would be really neat if we were sugery buddies though! 

I'm also working on losing some weight on my own.  I've been counting calories and journaling for 3 weeks, 2 days now.  I've been taking Saturdays off and have lost 5 lbs.  I felt it was going wayyy too slow at first, but it seems to be kicking in now.  Have my fingers crossed for both you and I that our bodies will COOPERATE!  Don't they know we are doing what's best for them?!    lol

Jump right in and post when you can and feel like it.  It's been such a joy to get to know everyone and hear of their experiences.  Since you've been reading, I know you can relate!

Gosh, I just heard about the zoo day and I am EXCITED!!!  I loooooove the zoo and I soooooo want to meet everyone.  Can't wait to tell hubby a day at the zoo may be in our not-so-distant future!    Hope you can make it too!

Amen to trying to get our bodies to realize that we're trying to do something good for them!  I had to email my nutritionist Friday and see what i was doing wrong b/c the scale hasn't really moved since my last visit to the doctor in June (I had to do a 3month thing for insurance).  well I just hopped on for what i thought would be another disappointing check but it was actually down 6lbs from Thursday!  I hope it will keep on going down!  Have you already submitted your paperwork for approval?  I will certainly be on the watch for the zoo info!

TJ,  Isn't it funny how that works?  It's like our bodies have a mind all their own, I swear.   

I am waiting to go to the surgical clinic that I've chosen.  They scheduled me for an "info class" last month for September 2nd.  Since they are a BCBSNC Bariatric Center of Excellence, I will be automatically approved by the surgeon and not have to go through submitting any paperwork to the insurance company.  That's a big weight off my shoulders, as you can imagine!  I've already gotten a physical and the bloodwork over with, and have my psych consult scheduled for the morning of September 2nd also.  I'm hoping I will have the surgery done no later than the end of October, first of November.  Fingers crossed!

Congratulations on your date!!!  I know you're excited and it'll be here before you know it!  I'm about 3 1/2 hours south east of you (near Jacksonville) but I go up to Raleigh once in a while.  Hopefullly I'lll be up there when ya'll get together sometime.  I'd love to meet ya!  Anyway, congrats again!  I'll be rooting for you!

Congratulations on getting your date!!  You have picked an awesome surgeon and team to help you get thru this journey.  Dr. Fuzz is great!  I used to live in Thomasville but have moved back to my hometown in Virginia.  Sometimes I wish I still lived in that area because I really miss it.
