THANK YOU
THANK YOU
THANK YOU

for all of  your kind words of encouragement.

I must say this is a little more difficult than i expected. Its really tough having a toddler around. im just trying to do activities on the couch with him. especially reading. he has seen my booboos and says OUCH when he gets near me. he ALMOST jumped on me last night. luckily i had a pillow

I didnt get to walk as much at the hospital. i didnt get a regular wing so the nurses didnt encourage me to walk .  but i did on my on. i got tired of waitingl

it feels so good to walk but i cant for so long. i have not had any pain meds since 11:55 pm friday night. i am not really in pain.. its more like discomfort. i hate the way i feel on pain meds and they make me nautious.

my main problem is my upper back. it hurts like the dickens. ive been using a heating pad.

ALSO, im having awful coughing spells. omg now thats painful. i hold a pillow tight but the pain is soooo bad. did any of you experience this?

i weighed 3 pounds more when i left the hospital yesterday (263)

i was at back at 260 this morning/
ive been having awful diarrhea (tmi ) . it all started from that nasty swallow test i had done yesterday morning. they told me i would have it but it would be a couple of days. it took 1 hour !!!
g

my hubby as been very supportive and funny,. hes telling me now they when he is thru with his ribs today he will let me suck the bone
Lord help him.
he did drink a whole chocolate boost and likes them
thats what im having right  now.

Congratulation.

I think I was able to take a shower when i got home.
I had RNY so maybe that is the difference.
Soon this part will all be a blur and the fun stuff comes next.

Welcome home, Melissa and welcome to the Losers' Bench!  It will get better...  Annie made a good suggestion about having your DH wash your hair for you over the sink...

Do take your pain meds when you need it, but I understand with a toddler you may not want to, but I would say definitely before bed so that you can get good quality rest, as long as you can tolerate them.  The walking will help ease that discomfort away as well as help with the coughing.  In all likelihood that is throat irritation from the tube for the anesthesia.  Just keep sipping and resting and taking little 10 min walks with your toddler around the house... it will get better!
