OT: Not so great news on my uncle

Well, unfortunately, the MRI confirmed the worst.  His stroke was a severe one and the doctor says permanent damage was more than likely done.  They are going to start him on some physical therapy and they have started giving him some blood thinners to hopefully prevent any more strokes from happening.  I had to take a break from the hospital for a while ~ just can't handle anymore stress right now.  But I will go back later this afternoon.  He is trying to talk them into letting him go home but they won't give him an answer on this right now.  I will probably end up staying with them if he gets to go home because my aunt has to work and he won't be able to stay by himself.  My Mom is coming in from Arkansas to help out  but she won't be here until after next week because of her job. 

Please keep the prayers coming.  We definitely need them. Thanks.

You and your family are in my prayers Donna.  Remember to take care of yourself as well in the midst of this as well.

I am sorry to hear about your Uncle. My father had a severe stroke back in the 1980s and he has lost the use of his right arm and couldnt speak for about 8 months. I wish your Uncle the best and hope the therapy helps like it did for my dad, my prayers go out to you and your family.

Donna,  I hate to hear that it ended up being the bad news you didn't want to hear, but hopefully he will make good progress with the physical therapy and blood thinners.  It is nice to hear how loving your family is to step up to the plate and help one another during this difficult time.  I can't imagine how thankful your aunt and uncle must be to have you! 

Oh Donna...I'm so sorry.  I will be praying that your uncle regains control and therapy helps.  Hang in there, I'm sure your family appreciates the support!

They have made so much progress in stroke treatment and after stroke therapy these days. Your family seems very supportive and that gives him a fighting chance. Just don't forget to keep with your eating regime as best you can so you can stay healthy for your very lucky to have you family. Sounds like you have a great family and they are rallying up as fast as they can.

Donna - Please take care of yourself during this time. I know your very concerned about your Uncle and Aunt but without you looking after yourself as well......I don't want to see you having repercussions with your health and well being.
I'm glad to hear that your mom will be able to come to help also. Your a blessing to your family! And our OH family too!
