Hello Stent...goodbye stricture!

For those *****member, I had complications from my colon cancer surgery and developed a stricture in my rectum.  The surgeon dilated it twice but it wouldn't stay open so today, finally a gastroenterologist put a stent in to keep the stricture open and allow the healing to complete.

I pray that it stays in place and does it's job because I'm tired of taking laxatives everyday.  I have to continue taking them for a few more weeks and have to eat a soft, low fiber diet for awhile, but at least this stent may fix the problem.

Everyone have a great weekend!  Alice

Oh Alice, that sounds so painful.  I hope the stent does the trick.  {{{Hugs}}}

Well, thanks to the great drugs, I slept through the procedure and most of the afternoon.  I can't really feel the stent so no, it doesn't hurt.  That may change in the future, but hopefully not.

Unfortunately, I had to delete this message due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!
