a grateful pet owner

As many of you know I am owned by 4 wonderful dogs and one cat and one wild and crazy parrot.
On my walk this morning the thought came to me and that was for me to give the dogs love and care I also I have to provide activity for them such as our walks.
Yes the bulldogs are panting when we get home and usally flop on the floor when we get in.
I know they have had some activity to get thier heart rates up.
Bulldogs are a non sporting breed and dont require activity like say labs do.
So our shorts walks help them in many ways.

You are definitely blessings to one another, Annie!

When I think of all the thinks I am going to enjoy being able to do for my family post-op, my little havanese/lhasa apso fits right into the mix.  I look forward to having more energy to take her on walks, like you do yours, and to play longer and harder.  She loves to wrestle and play but mommy wears out a bit quicker than she does.    I also think forward to the days when I come home from surgery and how she will be right at my side to hold and snuggle.

Ahhh, we are truly lucky, aren't we?

Yes Shauna,
We are the lucky ones and so many people can go through thier lives and never take notice of all the beuty(sp) around us.
I have a favorite book called Animal Speaks written by Ted Andrews.
You should check it out somtime.
In the book he talks about how different animals mean different things.
This morning on our walk I had the pleasure of hearing a hawk near by.
A hawk represents messages.
So to me the hawk is telling me to listen for messages in my life.

Annie,

Thank you for sharing that! I did not know that hawks represent messages.  We have a huge one in our neighborhood, and one of its favorite perches is on top of the utility pole on our property.  He looks so majestic sitting up there, looking around!!  I always talk to him when I go out and see him up there.  He doesn't fly away; he just sits there and watches me.

I miss being able to take my rat terrier, Macy, for her walks.  She loves them so.  I've made walking her one of my FIRST exercise goals to strive for post-surgery.  I really hope to get myself back in shape well enough to be able to become active in a pet rescue somewhere.  I love animals so much, and now that my girls are grown, I'm ready to turn my nurturing towards helping God's creatures!!

Take care,
Cathy W.

Hi Cathy,
That is wonderful you have a personal hawk to talk to they have lots of wisdom.
I am sure you will be able to reach your goal of walking your dog.
Actually that was one of my first goals.
There is nothing more rewarding than doing rescue for animals.
Lee and I rescued 3 english bulldogs before we got G & A.
To be able to provide a forever home for an animal is wonderful.
I guess by sharing more of some of these things like the hawk I am learning to open up more about myself to others.

Maybe that was what the message for me was today from the hawk was to open up more and share.

Band to DS

Unfortunately, I had to delete this message due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

Oh My Shelli you should hear some of the sounds G & A make LOL
It is a bulldog thing.
This is wonderful about taking Chester on a two mile walk.
Is Chester the frenchy on your avatar?
He is a cutie.
If you ever need a pet sitter bring him by here I promise he would have a great time with the english bulldogs and Zenny Bird.
