Hi Meredith,
I love your new avatar too! I'm glad to hear that you were able to get a new scale, the actual number doesn't matter as much as having a reference point to see if you are moving the direction that you want to be going in. I'm delighted to hear that you have started logging your intake. I find that when I do that, I make choices for myself that are really much better. I don't show it to anyone else, it's just for me, but it really goes a long way to helping me be aware of what I'm doing. It takes that mindlessness out of the quotient. I think you'll find that once you are able to become more active, you'll find that logging that will help too.
If you haven't don't so already be sure to get before photos (front, back and profile). I know that we all hate getting in front of the camera and we are sure that well never forget where we were, but believe me when I say that you'll be glad you did it. Also be sure to take your measurements, because sometimes it's hard to see the changes that are occuring, but the tape measure will 'show' you the changes and is especially helpful when the scale is being stingy and is holding onto some of the pounds. www.thinnerself.com has a great feature called 'chart wt and inches' that I used to track my progress and it provides a visual graphic representation of where you started and your shrinking measurements.
Wishing you every success in your journey,
Barb

Welcome to the NC Boards, I'm sure you'll find we are a funny and supportive group of friends to have! Ask any questions and we'll be sure to try to answer them! I see you're in New Bern, hopefully you'll be able to come to some of our get togethers. We usually meet about once a month in the Jacksonville area and we'd love to have you join us! Keep up the great work and keep us posted on your progress! Oh yeah another thing... I was a music major in college and I commend you for working with all those elementary school kids, I wouldn't have the patience to do it! Anyway, thanks for your hard work!!!!!
