I got my g-tube out today and Belinda and Saraah you were right. When I weighed I had lost 3 lbs of fat but I had gained 1 lb of water and 1.5 lbs of muscle. So that is why I have not noticed the scales moving. I will stay away from weighing every day. Thanks for all the encouragement from everyone. Boy am I glad to have that tube out. I feel so free.

That is great!    Staying off the scales is tough, but I think weighing just once a week can be much more rewarding.    I'm working on that now myself!

Not sure what a g-tube is, but glad you feel better!

I learned to not weigh myself every day when I was in OA (Overeaters Anonymous).  I used to weigh myself CONSTANTLY--morning and night, every day.  When I first started NOT weighing myself, well... I was kind of lost!  I didn't know how to "feel!"  In other words, when I got on the scale, it would determine how my whole day would go--my life revolved around what the scale said.  When I stopped weighing myself so often, I was free of all the moodiness that goes with the scale going up and down.  And I decided that, no matter whether I had gained or lost weight, I used it as an excuse to eat anyway....  Hope you can break yourself of the habit, you'll probably be happier.

I am going on vacation in the morning to visit my oldest son and his wife so no scal will be available for 8 days.  Hopefully that will help get off the weighing every day addiction.

g-tube is gastric tube my Dr. places for you to put protein shakes and water down while learning to get in all the body needs inorder to not dehydrate. It is placed in the old stomach.

with God all things are possible.

Congratulations on being tube free. It's a great feeling!!!

Your right weighing everyday will drive you crazy, but I can't help myself. I weigh everyday unless I'm out of town. This first time without it I had withdrawal.

Take care
Belinda
