someone PLEASE calm me down- im soooo mad !!!

ok so my band surgery is 8/15.

I had a sleep study back in June. my results were that i had very mild apnea. I was told i may need a follow up study with CPAP.
during my final consult my surgeon said he felt after i dropped about 50 lbs the apnea would go away. ive only had snoring issues recently.

dr shaw ( the pulm. dr who ordered the study) called me 2 weeks ago. thats when he told me i had mild apnea. i do have morning headaches but not all the time and im tired thruought the day. but i reminded dr shaw that i am tired due to lack of sleep from having a toddler who has yet to sleep thru the night. when my son stays off, i sleep the night thru and im never tired the next day or have headaches,
i thought the issue was over until i got a card in the mail for a follow up sleep study w/ CPAP the night before my surgery. i called and left the sleep center a message to cancel it. they just called me back and said it was required for me to have it and i may be turned away on surgery day . im like

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!!?

i told her i was not cancelling my surgery date. i have vacation approval time and people filling in for me here at work. she told me to take it up with my surgeon but she was obligated to tell me.
so i called Southern Surgical and talked with someone. they are now reviewing my records..

im sooooooooo upset..
beyond upset.

ok soo there were some wires crossed. when i had my consult dr mac thought i had the follow up already.

i have to have my sleep study this week
they are booked
everyone is booked
im like, sooo devastated right now. i knew things were going along too smoothly. nothing is ever right for me.

she did mention the possiblity of an auto pap machine if all else fails but she is not sure i can use it at home.
im going to go pray right now ..

BUMMER!  Yes, this does stink BUT just look at it as a SNAG in the process....
You can still have your surgery...It just might be delayed.
Hang in there...maybe there will be a cancellation at the Sleep Center and they can get you in sooner?

I know you are upset - just try to focus on something else until you hear back from the surgeon's office - keeping my fingers crossed that all will turn out good and this bump in the road will be a small one.

Are you willing to go to another facility for testing?   It would be worth it to go to another town to get it over with.

Holy Crap - there's a sleep study place in Elizabeth City - come on over. Honestly - take a deep breath call back to Southern Surgical and re-explain that you have a toddler and that's why you're tired -it's bound to count for something. Everything is going to work out. You've come this far and we won't have it ruined by some idiot trying to throw a wrench in the plans.
 
If that doesn't work - let's repo their cars.

guess what? im on the cancellation list for the sleep study.
but in the mean time they are gonna send home health out to me and get me on a rental cpap. and i can bring it with me to surgery next week.WHOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

There's nothing worse than finding out that your surgery can be delayed. Today is supposed to be my surgery day and right now I should be in recovery. Instead I am at home hacking up a lung from bronchitis that I came down with on Wednesday. My PCP and Surgeon postponed my surgery and I couldn't get back on the schedule until September 22 same time same place. The only thing to do is respect the surgeon and anestesiologist's desire for you to have the best outcome and to be as healthy as possible.

Yes our prayers have been answered - so glad things have turned out the way you want it to....

Now get ready for the time to fly by
