pyschotherapist in Greensboro Area???

Hi Everyone,

I don't really get on here much but when I need some advice, I know this is the best place to come :-) To tell my story in a nut shell, I'm almost 7 months out and I've hit my goal weight (actually a bit under). I'm getting married in 2 months, starting a new job in 3 weeks, all amongst many other "stressful" things that are taking place in my life right now.

I'm trying really hard to hold myself together but really think it would be a good idea to start seeing a therapist, like ASAP :) I just moved to this area about 3 months ago to live with my boyfriend of 7 years. Can anybody recommend a good therapist in the Greensboro or Asheboro area? I don't want to go to just anybody. I'd like to know that someone else has gone there and the person has experience with WLS and/or food addictions, depression, etc.

Hi, I'm sorry I can't help you with a therapist, but  maybe Ann from Greensboro will see this and post an answer for you.   She is getting ready to have her surgery there in September with Dr. Newman, and I'm sure she saw someone in the area for her pre-surgery psych approval.  If by chance she doesn't see it, you can send her a message.  Her user name is "ibeanniebe".

I'm Ann from Greensboro! LOL! I saw Dr Edward Lurey to get my clearance for the surgery. He does specialize in eating disorders and I think he fairly pinpointed my food issues correctly. His office is on 902 N Elm Street in Greensboro. He is not intimidating but he is firm.
