Its all up to cigna now!
I would trust your Dr's office since I imagine that they have a great deal of experience with your insurer. We have different insurance which requires 6 consectutive months. There was a problem with the documentation of my husband's 6 month medically supervised weight loss attempt and they required that he repeat all but the last month which keeps everything consecutive. I'm so proud of how he is handling it ... he's not giving up or giving in, because while my husband was really distressed he decided to just keep plugging away and working on losing what he can and making lifestyle changes that hopefully will help him in the long run while he waits for the time to pass as he does the next several months of medically supervised weight loss and then goes through the insurance process.
I wish you every success in your journey and look forward to getting to know you.
Warmly,
Barb

My sister just found out on Thursday that she was approved for lap band. She has Cigna, too (we work together). Dr. Pirrello is doing her lap band. She's just waiting on Kim to give her a date now! She had to appeal with them, too, because they denied her the first time, but she only had one denial at least.
