OT: Happy Birthday to Me!
((( HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, DENA! )))
Your name is also the name of my stepgrandmother, who was the sweetest and most wonderful person ever. Even in her 90s, she quilted and tatted things for us and did farm chores out on the prairie of southwestern Minnesota.
There was a 1960s song by the Ray Charles Singers that we used to sing to her out on the porch on summer nights while she was quilting:

There was a 1960s song by the Ray Charles Singers that we used to sing to her out on the porch on summer nights while she was quilting:
Dena, Dena, Dena, why are you so pretty
That the other boys in town
Always want to hang around you?
Dena, Dena, Dena, isn't it a pity
That I have to fight my way
Through the fellows that surround you?
Someday soon, I pray that you will say
You and I can make a wedding day!
So in the meantime, signorina,
Darling of Messina,
I can serenade on my little concertina,
Telling everyone that I love Dena!
