Hi Annie,
I hope you will take this in the spirit of friendship and love...

I had a Nanday conure whom I loved and who adored me.  We were inseparable, or so I thought.  He was ALWAYS on my shoulder.  I began by taking him outside just like you did, and that encouraged me to do it on a regular basis.  We never went anywhere, just if I needed to got out real quick to empty the garbage or something like that.  One day, a wind blew, and he flew off my shoulder and into a tree and he refused to come back.  I never saw him again.  I cried for days, of course.

I had read on all the bird sites that warned me never to do this unless my bird's flight feathers were trimmed, and even then they didn't recommend it, but I thought they just didn't understand how bonded we were, and I hated to trim his beautiful flight feathers so I disregarded that advice entirely as well.

Not trying to tell you what to do, just wanted to share my experience with you.  I know you would be devastated if you were to lose Zenny.  And I would hate myself if I hadn't told you about what happened to me and something then happened to Zenny.

Hi Suzanne,
Thxs for your advice about what happend to your beloved bird.
Yes I would be heart broken if something happend to my Zenny Bird.
I will take very seriously what you told me about what happend to your bird.
Zenny can get spooked very easily so before Lee turned on any of his power tools including the tractor yesterday he would let me know so I could hold Zenny close to me.
Scratch my idea of walking Zenny with the dogs not a good idea.
Thanks again for telling me this.

Zenny sends birdy kisses your way.

Hey Annie:   Does Zenny have his wings clipped?   Looks like you still got mom's dog?   How are yours doing with her?

Take care,

Pam

Hi Pam,
No I dont still have Prof he is back with my mother.
I do understand lots of people have thier birds wings clipped but I dont mainly because it is his natural defence like a cat has claws.
