I tried a new recipe tonight and I have to say "It's a keeper"! The family agrees...
WHITE CASTLE HAMBURGER PIE http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/white_castle_hamburger_pie.html

This recipe is a low carb "Atkins" style meal, meaning it's not fat free. Depending on how you "eat" you may or may not like. I'm sure you could omit some of the ingredients to make it lower in fat. I made it using ground chicken and will add 1-2 extra eggs next time and omit the mayo.

Just thought I'd share! Sometimes it's hard finding appealing food ideas so I went to the library and checked out some cookbooks and am in the process of trying a few new recipes a week. I'm not picky but my hubby and son are so I'm constantly challenged! I had my guyz go through the books to pick out some things they think that they'd like....

Darcie! How can you omit the most important "flavor"?! LOL  Maybe try it with a pkg of dry beef soup mix?

This looks really good and I love White Castle...once upon a time I could actually eat them!

Hubby and I both want to try this recipe for dinner next week.  I will have to alter it a bit though, so I think I will try TVP for the ground beef, 1 whole egg + 2 egg whites for the 2 eggs, light mayo, soy milk, and 2% cheddar cheese.  I LOVE onion soup mix, so I'll leave that one alone!

Shauna - I hope you and the hubby enjoy it...I know we did! Hubby wants me to make it with more eggs to have it as breakfast dish, sounds good to me. I hadn't used dry onion soup mix in YEARS...boy I've really been cheating myself out of some massive yummy flavor! My mom used to make chip dip using it mixed with sour cream when I was a kid. Yumm, I'm making my mouth water! LOL

Band to DS

Unfortunately, I had to delete this post due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!
