5 months gone

Friday marked 5 months since my surgery. I wont tell anyone that it has been a walk in the park, emotionally or physically. I still struggle sometimes with all of the changes but I am working thru them. I have lost a grand total of 124 lbs since last Sept and 90 lbs since surgery Feb 25th. I really wanted it to be 100 since surgery but I will accept 90. I hear alot from people "oh I can see it in your face" Soon I hope that they will be able to see it elsewhere also.I have lost 11 1/2 inches in my waist and 12 1/2 inches in my hips. I have down sized a total of 58 1/2 inches all over. I went from wearing size 32/34 to 22/24 top and some bottoms. Some bottoms are still 26/28s. I went from buying all my clothes at Catherine's to buying at Khol's, Cato's and elsewhere. I am still in the plus size but at least they are cheaper. I don't have alot of clothes right now but I will survive.
I would do the surgery again tomorrow if I had it to do again.Like I said it hasn't been easy and there have been a few bumps in the road but  I really believe it was a good choice and I can't wait to see the finished product. I just finishd my first stall and lost alot of hope but realize these things happen so I am adjusting. I have posted pics on my profile. My hair will tell  the story . The wind was blowing a gale of all days.

Melissa,

You must so very proud of your accomplishments. You have lost a whole person already and are still going! The photos really do show the incredible progress you have made and while I too see it in your face, I also really see the incredible difference in your arms, mid-section, and hips. Your whole body shape is changing and developing a much more 'feminine' physique. Keep up the good work. It's really paying off.

Wishing you continued success,

Barb

Thanks Barb. I am very proud of my accomplishments but I guess its human nature to always want more. I hope one day to get to a Raliegh meeting so I can meet you in person. We travel to Reidsville about once a month so I know the way lol.

Thanks again

Melissa

Melissa,
WOW!!!!  I just checked out your new pics and you look FABULOUS!!!!!  I can really tell a difference all over, not just in your face.  And 58 1/2 inches ~~~ girl, I'd be shouting that from the rooftops!!!  And 90 lbs in 5 months ~~~~ come on, how awesome is that????  I have 13 more lbs to go to get to my goal and some days I just don't think I will ever make it.  So I know exactly what you mean about stalls.  I'm trying to stay on track and get these final pounds off and I know that if I stay focused and determined, I will succeed.  You keep on keepin' on ~~~~ you are doing so great and you look fantastic!!!  Congrats on your success so far and I know that you will experience much more in the future!!

Hugs,
Donna

Thanks Donna! I really didnt realize how much 58 1/2" was until I realized that is more inches than my 4 yo is tall! I have lost him hehehe! I also keep thinking about a commercial I saw that says for every lb u lose u lose 4 lbs of pressure on your knees. My knees have lost 496 lbs of pressure. Now I know why it doesnt hurt as bad anymore to walk on the soft sand at the beach!

Thanks again

Melissa,  You are looking so good!  I am astounded that some people lose 100 pounds in their first 6 months.  I bet you will be right there at month 6!

Melissa....your loss is very very obvious in your pics and you look fantastic!  You are starting to get an hourglass shape.   One of the problems we have is our clothes get big and it is hard for some ppl to see the loss in there.    My 6 month anniversary is 8/19 and i wanted to get to 100 lbs gone so bad but since i am at 88 now, that ain't gonna happen.  Of course the stall happened about 10 days ago.   But, i am grateful for what i have lost.  I agree...we always want more and patience is a virtue i don't have.

Take care and keep up the good work!

Hey Melissa - You are doing great! As for the clothes? You may want to check out the thrift shop in Hampstead across from Food Lion. I believe it's the Community Building "something-or-other." (Sorry...)
Bag sale baby! All you can fit in a big brown grocery bag for 7 bucks. That's right! You heard it here first! The lady behind the counter even showed me how to fit more into the bag than how I was doing it. LMAO
They do have some plus sizes but even if they don't have a big selection of them, it's fun to pack that baby with other clothes we will soon be able to wear.
Go! Check it out!

You look fabulous! If people are telling you that they "can see it in your face" that's the only thing they're looking at! Cuz...HONEY YOU SHRUNK! A LOT!
