NO ONE FROM HAVELOCK & Surrounding areas

I don't think there are very many of us here, but I wanted to see and to throw out the offer of a possible meet up for those that can't or will not travel to Jacksonville or Greenville!!  I LOVE my meetings in Jacksonville and will continue to go, but I also wanted to see if I could maybe organize something local, it was actually recommended by my surgeon that I try to start a group here....Sooooo, If i have any takers PLEASE speak up and let me know!!!  Support is a crucial piece of our journey!!!  And I know I would not be able to be as positive as I am now, without my girls that have gone through it  :) They know who they are!! 

ANY LURKERS OUT THERE...PLEASE REPLY TO THIS IF YOU WOULD BE INTERESTED, I WOULD LOVE TO MEET YOU!!! This is for all Pre-Op, Post-Op and those maybe thinking about it!!!

I think it's great that you are working on starting a local support group. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. While many NC folks do come here, there are a number that do not so you might want to xpost this to some of the other boards, i.e., main forum, rny forum, lapband forum, etc... some folks that just go there might find you. You can also put a listing on Craigslist and on meetup. ... If you want to use my meetup site as Melinda did for hers, please let me know and I'll be glad to give you the necessary permissions.

I live in Jacksonville..I'm going to have my surgery in Greenville at Southern Surgical where is there a support group in Jacksonville? I didnt know there was one?

The next time the J-ville WLS folks meet is Aug 5 at Logan's on Western Blvd at 6 PM.  It's not a "formal" meeting, just more of a get together where we share our own experiences and try to encourage each other.  It is a wonderful thing to have available.  Join us!

I would absolutely be interested in a group meeting in Havelock.  I live in Beaufort and had RNY 6/27.  I've been attending the support group meetings that Southern Surgical holds in their office in Havelock, but it is my understanding that the bariatric coordinator there has jumped ship, so I'm not sure what's going to happen with that now.  Plus it'll be nice getting to know people from other programs as well.  So add me to the list!

Hey I would love to do a meet up close to.  I have a hard time getting to Jville since I don't get out of my Bank till around 5:30 and they meet so early for me to make the trip.  Southern surgical only lets their patients attend the meetings and I believe their coordinator was the one that did it at J-ville hospital last year and kinda cop out I believe.  Yes there is no support groups in Carteret county anymore though they are starting to do the new lap band at the Surgical center.  Hey I also live in Beaufort and work at FCB on the waterfront.  I use to do articles for the Gam paper called "Big Fat Looser".  LOL.

Totally count me in for Havelock meetings!  I know that I need to get involved in a support group.  With working and all, it's hard for me to make it in time to the Jacksonville meetings.
