Sorry to hear of your friends reaction. Maybe she was just "having a bad day"? That's no excuse for her behavior but I think maybe if you/she are willing...sit down and REALLY talk about it? JMO

I'm sorry - I know how painful that is.  I even had a friend who had RNY tell me I was crazy for having any WLS blah blah

I think it's jealousy....your friend is afraid you'll get thin and won't want to be her friend?  (I'm assuming she has a weight issue, though could be wrong - even if she doesn't - she could still be concerned!)

I know my friend didn't want me to be successful .....

I don't get some people, when she had her surgery 7 years ago I was very supportive

Don't give up.  I'm sorry that you're going thru this.  I'm 2 week out from having lap band.  So far I can honestly say that I'm glad that I had it done.  My family and co workers have really supported me.  I did this for myself and no one else.  I hope your friend will understand and be there for you.
