I am up way too early ---Why?

It's way too early for me to be up right now but I have so much going on I can't sleep. My DH has to go to a pre admission appointment so he can have a heart cathertorization on Tuesday. My preadmission appointment is this morning at 10:30 am for next Monday's RNY surgery and I have a raging sore throat and ach in both ears that came on suddenly yesterday afternoon. I hope I can get this looked at today so I can get on antibiotics if needed and still have my surgery on time. Some how I knew this went just a little too smoothly.
Now back to the DH. He had his arm twisted by myself to go and get a physical with my Dr since he would not pick one out on his own. My PCP is very thourough and she did her intial exam and took all the blood samples about 2 weeks ago. Then she sent him (he's 58 years old) to get a stress test for his heart to the same clinic that I went to for my cardiac testing and clearance. The cardiologist ordered more severe stress testing and MRI which he had on Friday. He was to see the doctor on Tuesday for follow up but his Cardiologist called him personally on Saturday and is still seeing him on Tuesday but instead of in the office he is seeing him at the out patient clinic for the catheter procedure. The rotten part of all this is he is on vacation from his job so he can enjoy his visit with his grandkids while they are here from CA. Instead he has been to all these appointments and really hasn't had an opportunity to relax and have some fun. His Dx is cardiomyopathy. He has never had any symptoms to worry about and we thought he would just get the physical and then be told to keep on working out and staying active and that he is healthy. Actually for now he is pretty healthy and he doesn't feel bad except he is more tired than he used to be and he has a little bit of arthritis in his knees. Maybe he's not so perky in the bedroom as he used to be but isn't that suppossed to be normal after 28 years of marriage? So now my adventure to be healthy has spilled over to him and as soon as they get to the bottom of his heart issue I am hoping he will find more energy and feel good while I am doing the same over the next year while getting this extra 'sister' I'm carrying around off of me.

Sorry you can't sleep...neither can I. Missing my son, problems with my daughter. It never stops. Luckily I have an appointment with a psychologist later this morning. Anyhow, so sorry about the problems with the hubby, but thankfully he went on for the check-up and they found this. He will be fine in time to be supportive for you! Good luck today at pre-op! I hope things get better for you this week and that your sore throat goes away! Try not to stress!

I know you can't help missing your son. I am glad you are getting some couseling to help with it. This is a good time for you to concentrate on taking care of yourself.
The sore throat is still hanging in and it seems to have swept through the household. two daughters and one of the grandkids has it too. I just hope my husband avoids it. We will see how to get relief today for all of us.

Ann, Hope your pre-admission appt goes smoothly for you today and that you get what you need to get over your sore throat.  Sorry to hear about all your hubby is having to go through regarding his heart, but it is sooo good they found it and can give him the treatment he will need!  That is great that you can now enjoy getting healthy together this year.    Just ONE WEEK!  The final countdown begins! 

Thank you for the good thoughts. I agree that I am thankful that we have found his heart condition before it causes him damage or worse. He has been pretty much symptom free actually. Whew!

After posting this I felt sleepy and was able to go back to sleep. I guess I just needed to talk about it to someone. I sleep another 3 hours.

I'm sorry to hear of your sore throat and ear ache, I'm sure that your Dr. will get you taken care of. I'm so glad that you got your husband to go for an exam and that he's being seen and taken care of.

We are waiting for a call from the dr's office to give DH a time to come in around my appointment. His apparently will be at the Dr's office across the street from the hospital he will have his procedure and mine is at 10:30 this morning at a different hospital so we have to coordinate since we have only one car. We are very grateful this has been Dx early and he can get treated to prevent further issues. It would be a cruel joke if I got healthy and he got sick.

So you have to twist DH arm to go to the doctor.
I know how that is especially with my cowboy he is terrible about going to the doctor would rather bite the bullet ect..
When it rains it pours sometimes but keep positive Ann.
First you need your surgery and DH needs to follow through on what they are recommending for him.
Lee had a silent heart attack three months after we got married.
Thank God he told me his symptoms and agreed to go to the doctor.
Lee also had 95% blockage and they put in a stint and has had no trouble since.
He is on a few medications and will be the rest of his life.
Does he take care of himself the answer is NO.
Look towards the future for you both and together you both can start making healthy lifestyle changes.
It will be an adventure of a lifetime you both can share.

Thanks Annie for the good words of support. He is going in tomorrow and if he needs a stint the doctor will do it then. I guess he has to stay overnight after the catherization and they told him to eat well today cause tomorrow food is a no no. He is NPO after midnight LOL!
I just got back from my preop and had all the particulars explained to me about my surgery day. I almost seems real. I know it will happen.
