post-op update (long)

Band to DS
on 7/26/08 7:42 am, edited 1/28/12 12:24 am
Unfortunately, I had to delete my post due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

Sounds like you are a real trooper Shelli,
Things will get better as each day goes by.
The worst part is over now all you need to do is take care of yourself and do what they tell you.
You are to be admired for your patience at the hospital.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

Yeah, Shelli!!! I'm glad you've made it through to the other side and are now on the mend.  Continue to take care of yourself and follow your doctor's orders.  I bet you're going to do great!

Thank goodness we heard something from you today !  And glad this part is over.  It sure gives me more thought about my upcoming surgery.  I men, I know it is not going to be a walk in the park, but some of the stories I hear from ya'll is a bit scary.

Keep sipping and walking and let us know how the next few days are.

I'm so glad you made it through...all the waiting would have driven me NUTS!!!  I know it's not funny, but when you were telling the story about laying on the bed and "crack"...I almost wet myself!!!

Was the surgery and next day recovery more difficult than you thought?

Hugs to  you!!!

Awwww, Shelli, ((HUGS)) girlie!  So sorry about all that stuff going on! We will have to compare notes!
Anyhow, I hope you are feeling better and taking it easy.  You toughed it out, and that's no small feat!
Take care and be gentle with yourself!

Hi Shelli,

I'm sorry that you got off to a late start, but I'm glad that it all went well. Be sure to keep up with the fluids. As I'm sure they'll tell you, dehydration is your biggest enemy right now, so keep sipping and keep walking to help the gas dissapate and to keep you from having any problems with embolisms.

Welcome to the loser's bench!
