Today went pretty good with her discharge but you know I had to stay on top of it.
Mother looked at me and said "you are such a task master" not sure if she ment that in a nice way or not but I am learmimg to let thing roll off my back that she says.
My brother and I were in constant contact today because mother decided she was not going to the health care unit she was going home because she did not want a room mate.
So between my brother and the health care manager we have her covered at home

glad to know things are going well for her. If I were her I'd certainly be more comfortable at home recupperating. But - there seems to be a stubborn streak in some of us southern girls that we have to have it our way regardless of what our care takers have planned. She should be proud that she has such a capable daughter to take care of all the details for her.

I take care of my 83 year old Aunt and she gave me quite a scare this afternoon. She always - always - always goes out and gets her morning paper while she walks her dog. This afternoon I came home and was checing my mail and noticed her paper was still in the box. Oh boys did I panic. When I went in her house she was sitting back on the couch with her foot propped up. She says her toenail is infected but her whole foot was swollen and she's so hard headed she wouldn't let me take her to the emergency room tonight. So I called my Mom and she's got an appointment for her tomorrow morning (but I'm not telling my aunt that). I'll let it be a surprise when my Mom shows up and loads her in the car. (ha ha ha ha)

Have a great afternoon & evening.

Hi Iris,
Despite my moms failing health I am learning so much about me because of some of her actions.
Things about her that I show at times too OMG.
One thing I am seeing first hand is the difficuly care givers are having in caring for her due to her increase in weight.
I had a good talk with her housekeeper this morning and the housekeeper is concerned about mothers weight and is making an effort on serving her meals with fruits and veggies more and more.
Hope things go alright with your aunt tomorrow a sore toenail is no fun.

Hi Annie,

I'm glad to hear that your mother is recovering well and is home resting. Hopefully, you'll be able to get some rest too.
