Waynesville Support Meeting?
Hey gang -
So, I have posted a few times on the RNY forum and Lexi clued me in to this NC forum. She said you guys are great people!! Anywho - I was wondering if anyone around here goes to the support meeting in Waynesville? My dr requires support meetings and I know they are a good idea it is just that Atlanta is 2 hrs away and Waynesville is still almost an hour and a half. Gas prices, ya know? If I went to the Atlanta one I would know a couple of patients who were in the hospital with me and that is a draw because I don't really like new situations... Anyone else in the neighborhood?

Hey - I'm not much help with your particular group but I just wanted to say I love your part of the state. My Aunt lived in Bryson City for a while and I loved going out to visit her.
I do now what you mean about the support group issue though. I'm much closer to doctors in Virginia than I am to my own Dr. in Greenville but through here I've met a lot of his other patients. I plan on doing a little of both areas.

Hello from Black Mountain! :) We've been out your way a few times the past month or so with our daughter's softball tournaments...Franklin, Sylva, etc. Such beautiful drives we've enjoyed, that's for sure.
I hadn't started looking into the various local support groups yet as I'm in the early stages of all this. Since I'm looking into a clinic in Hickory, I figure I will attend their support group before, during, and shortly after surgery (keep your fingers crossed for me that I get it!), but then I would love to find something closer. Hickory is 1 hour, 5 minutes away.
I had no clue there was one in Waynesville, so thanks for that heads-up! That would be about 50 minutes away from me so that is one I could definitely check out. Will you let me know what you think if you attend and where is the info on where/when? I am ultimately hoping there is something in Asheville, which is closer for me, but not for you. Otherwise, I just may have to start one in Black Mountain later! ;) I hope you find something convenient and enjoyable!
