This is something you mix with skim milk?  I though the poster above was saying "clear liquid Isopure".  I see that it comes in grape frost, orange...Maybe I'm misunderstanding her.

My doc has me taking Flintstone chewables with one in a.m. and one in the evening.  I also did 42g of protein bullets in 3 oz so i could get all my protein in.

Take care, Pam

I'd be sure to have some crystal lite that you like around. It really helped me to get in all of the fluids that I needed.

My program didn't like the 'protien bullets' because they aren't a complete food source and preferred things like boost, ensure, or carnation instant breakfast. I had to be on that stuff for 3.5 weeks and I couldn't care less if I never saw another protien drink the rest of my days.

I think that most of the suggestions you already got sounded great. I'm with Jennifer. Forget the slippers and just use the slipper socks they give you and ditch 'em when you go home. I'm with Annie, forget nightgowns, just use the hospital gowns.

My only other suggestion was that I wore a loose-fitting dress which was comfortable on the ride home because it didn't bind anywhere. I actually tended to wear them for the first few days. ... And don't tell anyone, but I was able to get away without having to wear a bra which made it much more comfortable.

Wishing you all the best,

Barb

I am a Southern Surgical patient. About the vitamin question: I had my nutrition appointment this past Wednesday and the Dr.'s at SS suggest that you take OptiSource multivitamin,(it is specifically designed for bariatric patients). It contains everything you will need after surgery, they want you to take 2 in the a.m. and 2 in the p.m. The bottle has 120 chewable vitamins and cost about $27.00 and supposedly contains 1 month supply in each bottle.

Also, in the book that I am reading they suggest taking BuildingBlocks vitamins, that they are specifically designed for bariatric patients also but I haven't done any research on these.

The dietician also said to buy your vitamins now and start taking them to help prepare your body for surgery.

Hope this helps.
