Here's the list I've compiled for myself so far:

Chapstick, jojoba oil (my moisturizer), lotion
Toothbrush, paste, floss
Hair brush/comb, comfy barrettes (I don't like my hair in my face!)
Toiletry supplies (shampoo, conditioner, face wash, soap, hand sanitizer)
Sports bra, underwear
Comfy, slide-on slippers (washable)
Light-weight robe (maybe a light snap-front gown or two?)
Small fan, pillows, pillow cases (to make things more comfy)
Reading material, laptop, Ipod, cell phone & charger
Earplugs

Not sure if I'll get/take all of this, but they are the things I've seen suggested.  :)  Since I am picky about using all-natural, non-toxic, organic products, I have to bring my own, but the hospitals normally do supply showering supplies and I think you will only be taking one just before going home.

P.S.  Think about having a going-home outfit that would be comfy for you.  I've heard some people say they just go home in a gown and robe.  At least choose something loose.  The sports bra is for support without hurting incisions.  :)

The list posted above was pretty good. Personally I wouldnt bring slippers - they should give you no-slip socks to walk around in - hospitals are EXTREMELY germy - you dont want to bring all those germs home with you... I threw the socks away before I left the hospital.

Bring elastic/drawstring pants to leave in... something comfy and roomy since you may be bloated.
Cell phone/charger
Face/body lotion (I HAVE to have my lotion)

I brought books/magazines and didnt touch a single one.. was too tired.
Didnt need shampoo/conditionder/body soap because I wasnt allowed to shower there, they gave me a bucket o soapy water and a washcloth to wipe myself down with the day I was leaving - I also brought my own face cloths which I used to freshen up with.

Jennifer -- Thanks so much for the reminder to put "cell phone & charger" on my list!  :)  I'm also going to seriously weigh the slipper issue now.  At the very least, choose some very washable ones if I do take my own.  Thanks again!

Unfortunately, I had to delete this post due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

I'll be needing this list too, I hope...Did your doctor tell you what kind of vitamin to get?  Also, did they suggest the Gas-X and Benedryl strips?  And one more thing...Does the Isopure come in flavors?  If it does, is there a kind you like better than others?
