Reminder ... Raleigh Get Together Saturday 10am NEW LOCATION

Just a quick reminder that the monthly Raleigh Get Together is this coming Saturday at 10 am and we are trying a new location. We will be meeting at the Golden Corral on Millbrook Road at the intersection of the Capital Blvd. It's a couple of miles north of the Perkins restaurant we had been meeting at before. P.S. Of course, because we are using their facility, the folks at the Golden Corral would like each of us to purchase our meal there while we use their facility. Their normal price is $7.39; if you are a senior or have a card indicating that you are a WLS patient your meal will be $6.79.

I will be bringing my pins,magnets and key chains.

I also may be making my first maiden trip to the meetup and Lee said I should leave early to take my time getting there.

As Lee said, give yourself plenty of time, but don't worry. The new location is literally up the street a couple of miles north of Perkins. It's on the northwest corner of Capital at Millbrook. I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding it.

Question:  Do we have to eat? or pay for the buffet? If we just want a drink?

Yes, I'm afraid that the 'cost' of using their facility means that we do need to order something from them. We may choose another venue at a later date, but at this point, we are going to be using them for at least the next couple of months. Most venues I have checked either aren't big enough to accomodate a group the size of ours, they charge a fee that runs about $100, or are not centrally located. I don't know that there is a perfect solution to this issue and to be honest having it at a restaurant that is an all you can eat buffet has it's drawbacks when you can't eat much, but for now, it's been the best solution I've been able to find. I'll continue to listen to feedback and look for a solution that works for the majority.

Monika - I hope you still come. Dont worry, we all get a little ripped off in the food dept...but we get to see all of our OH friends....it's a good trade off! I look forward to meeting you!

Summer months are the slimmest financial months for me.  Hell I had to go put in pawn some of my jewelry to pay the $200 to the surgeon's office. 

I am a full time college student and full time single mom to 4 girls...... the next funds of substance that I will get in the house won't be until the middle to end of august.  (which is good since I miss my jewelry and can't wait to get it back)

I will call them today and see what they say. 

I will PM to see if we can find a solution that will work for you. I don't want someone to not attend due to finances.
