Annie - you owe me $400

But I'm going to let you slide on it. I went out and bought myself a treadmill and a pedestal fan so now I'll have no excuses for not walking everyday. I can't say it's dark when I get home, it's too hot or it's raining or that it's inconvenient. I posted on my profile that it was time to start living and there were no excuses - so now it's time for me to really live it.  No more excuses. My Mom is getting me an elliptical machine so I'm pretty excited about that too.

Here's my goal - in 6 months time I want to be running on treadmill. What do you think about that?

The best thing for me to do when it comes to exercise is...DON"T THINK ABOUT IT!!  JUST DO IT!!!  If I think about it, I talk myself right out of it! LOL  And it's so easy to do that!!!  Best wishes with your exercise!!  We don't love it, but IT JUST HAS TO BE DONE!!!;)  Kind of like laundry!
Be Blessed!

Andrea,
You are 100% right we cant think about doing it we just have to do it.
I find it is like a mind set and can be addictive but hey there are alot worse addictions out there.

Come On Down Iris!!!!!
I am so happy to read you got a treadmill now dont forget start slow.
As far as the elliptical it will kick your %^&*()__ it will get easier you just have to stay with it.
I am finally up to 20 minutes on mine and at level 1 so you see I am steady at it but doing it at my pace.
Ahhh to run on the treadmill now that is a pipe dream for me but it is also another personal goal.
I have been doing little quick steps which will eventually work up to jogging but I still have to be careful because my balance has been bad for a long time due to my obesity.
Iris you forgot something, did you get a MP3 player yet?
You dont have to get an ipod in fact I bought my MP3 player at Target it holds up to 30 songs.
If you need help on where to get music pm me and I can help you.

Annie - I've got my MP3 player. I've got 2 teenagers so they keep me a playlist filled on the computer with things I may never have dared listen to let alone download. My youngest is great for picking out stuff that I just wanna get up and dance to.

I imagine that if I get 2 minutes in on the elliptical that I feel like I've accomplished a great deal. Those things can be beastly. Starting slow is key and for me I have to stretch well before I start out or my legs are killing me.

My boys are setting up my treadmill today while I'm at work so my plan is to walk as soon as I get home.

Have a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Band to DS

Unfortunately, I had to delete this post due to privacy concerns.

Got a lap band in 2008. Tried hard, but didn't lose much weight & developed swallowing problems. Fought my insurance company for almost a year & finally had a band to DS revision on 5/11/12. Have now lost 125 pounds. Yay!

I can see it now...Iris and Annie...working their lil' hearts out...wondering who is going to be the first to start RUNNING every day on their treadmill!!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Ya'll have certainly inspired me to start thinking about what type of exercising I am going to indulge in post-op...I even have hubby daydreaming about a gym membership and actually USING it together!
