OT Hubby is gone

Today my husband left for his deployment. He will be gone till late February. I thought I could hold it all together but basically spent the day crying not wanting him to go. It was very hard to be around all the other wives, family members, children who also felt the same way. When I was on active duty I deployed and never felt sad or anything.. but now that I am on the other side of the fence it was very hard to see hubby leave. I was VERY proud to see our local wonderful USO arrive and stand at the entrance to the buses and hand each Marine a care package and gave each Marine a hug before getting on the bus. Their were a lot of young guys who didnt have any family or wives to send them off so hats off to the USO for making everyone feel like they belong. My two dogs knew something was going on this week with all the hustle and bustle of packing and getting everything in order, I am glad I have them to keep me company till he returns. My husband is a wonderful and kind man and I pray that him and the rest of the Marines have a safe journey. Thanks for letting me ramble on, I always know I can come here when I need a hand up

Darcie, I am so sorry for your pain. I know emotional pain can be a , well ....pain in the butt! I wanted to tell you that I appreciate what your husband does for our freedom and you too. Every good soldier needs a person at home rooting for them and waiting for them to come home. I have no military in my family and cannot imagine the emotional strain it puts on you. I hope that his deployment is swift and uneventful. You and he as well as the rest of the Marines away from home are in my family's thoughts and prayers.

You got me Darcie always as a friend.

I dont think I could handle being a military wife but sometimes we can handle alot more than we give ourselves credit for.

If you and some of the other beach girls want to make a trip up this way we could make a day of it by cooling it in the hot tub and shopping.

Maybe you could come up this way for our meetup in Raliegh.

Do you know where your hubby was sent too?

It is never too late to be what you might have been.?

Darcie -

Melissa said exactly what I was thinking. My family cannot thank you enough for everything he's doing for our country. I'm so sorry that your day has been so emotional. Saying goodbye is never easy even if we know it is only temporary. Keep your chin up and know that we're all here to support you in any way that we can.

Hey girlie!! I absolute feel your pain! My hubby has done 3 tours in Iraq since we have had Kameron, (Keeley was a back from Iraq baby to the date ) And it is very very hard to see them walk away!! I alway think , ahh ive done this before, so it should get easier, but IT DOESN'T!!! Our husbands are our rocks and we need them, but that is the price we pay for standing by our men and there is no better pride then to see homecoming day and the minute they step foot off the bus/plane, that moment is absolutely undescribable!!  I absolutely will pray for his safe return and hope that time flies by!!! My hubby is leaving this Friday, but only for 6 weeks, but even then its not easy :(  You will be in my thoughts

Hang in there girly!!!

Darcie,  My thoughts are with you, and your hubby too.  Hug onto those fur-babies...they are what keep us sane sometimes.  :)  {{{Big hugs!!!}}}

Darcie,

I am so sorry you had to say good-bye today.  Although my hubby is not deployed now, he has been before.  It never does get any easier, does it?  I can hear the pride in your "voice", that will help while you wait for e-mails and phone calls.  You're a strong woman, and you'll make it through the months apart, but that doesn't mean you won't have tough times (today included.)  Know that you're not alone.  We are all praying for him and for you.
