I've got a stricture...but not where you'd think :-0
Hey guys, it's been a while since I have been on the board. I've still been really struggling after my surgery for colon cancer. I was back in the hospital for 4 days in June. Still having same problems with having a pain free BM, so the surgeon had me come in on Monday for a flex sigmoidoscopy (similar to a colonoscopy). He found that I have stricture at the site where he put my colon back together (actually in the rectum). He dilated it with a balloon but told me it may take more than one time to get it to stay open. So far, no improvement in the symptoms so I will most likely be in there for another flex sig soon. If this balloon procedure does not fix it, then it's back to the OR I go.... Not something I want. I'm so tired of feeling bad! I have no appetite and it's really hard to get all my fluids in. I have to take Milk of Magnesia everyday! So, please send prayers up on my behalf that this problem will get fixed without further surgery. Thanks everyone! Alice
